Not sure what the original price for the Aeron Roubaix Long Sleeve Jersey was, or how much it has gone up/down, but it's been dropped to £45

Edit: According to Bender's blog review, it was originally £45. So it went up to £60, then back again to £450 -

It was £40 two days ago, it's gone up in price for the sale.
I see the Blok Meso Roubaix is cheaper (£27), but has the same cut. Anyone used the Blok range?0 -
The women's is 40 quid at the moment. There's a lot of stuff for sale in women's wear. I've got the Mrs some Blok stuff and other items. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Well I finally managed to use the Aeron Jersey today on a 12 degC windy ride. I wore a LS base layer underneath which might have been too much as I got a bit sweaty on some of the climbs. My overall impression is that it is a very nice jersey and for the price I paid a real bargain.
Will I wear it very often (other than for commutes)? I don't know, i'll probably still reach for the Alpha Jersey or Intermediate Evo first, but it is still a good jersey.0 -
As much as I like the softshell, I think I might return it. The lack of high vis on the back is playing on my mind. It should have been obvious from the picture really, but from behind I might as well be in all black which I'm not too keen on. I'm thinking of give the Gore Xenon 2.0 jacket a try as it's down to £102.59 on wiggle.0

Done my Mossa review
Good review. It's very tempting to take the plunge and try one out, but at £50 more than a long sleeve Gabba, and much more difficult to get hold of one is it really worth it?0 -
I'll try and more fully reply in the morning but, it's all about choice. I prefer staying dry. The Gabba is reduced, at this moment in time. I do think it's 50 better. But, when the Gabba is the same price, it's simply better. It's also much better than the 40 quid more Rapha equivalent. My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Bear in mind that the Aeron is Windtex, quite an established material being used in many garments.
I dont think it is made on Windtex. there is no mention of the fabric on product description.
There isn't in the description, which is strange, but the softshell has a windtex tag on it.
The tag has been used by some un-authorized companies[ not claiming this one is] i have been following Windtex for a while. an italian company is in court for mis-use and un-authorized sale of Windtex label.0 -
Anyone else find Wiggle's fluctuating prices a bit off putting?
I was pretty much ready to push the button on one of the new DHB thermal gillets at £33, but then the price jumped up to £40. That's still not a bad price, but I'm disinclined to go ahead now that I know it could be seven squids cheaper and that it may conceivably drop down there again...0 -

Can be a bit annoying, just got to time your purchases right. I missed the Giro Synthe being on sale at £115, and now it's back up at £140. In dire need of a new helmet but just got to wait for the price to drop again because you know it will in the next month or two. Just got to keep checking to see when!0 -
Yup, peed off s I'd rather try the Castelli Alpha jersey, ordered 2 sizes. Would have tried the aeron stuff but think Castelli is better value.0

Amateur photographer. Yes, they are navy.
But it is so dark, I doubt anyone could be offended. Unless they are different when they arrive. The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.

It is a very dark blue. If anyone already has the softshell or jersey, it's that colour. Rover will know what I mean.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

I saw another rider wearing the yellow/blue jacket at the weekend and the yellow really stood out which was good, in fact the jacket with black bib tights looked a good combo but with blue tights as well!
Nooooooooooo!!
Just to add that it was a 3 hr ride and it rained for most of that time and the jacket did really well, I think it was on the verge of letting in the water as I started to feel cold but I think that's fair enough given how wet it was.0 -
I see the Blok Meso Yellow tops have Navy and Black panels. I'm thinking of giving them a try as I can't see any difference between Blok and Aeron in the description, but Blok are discounted at the moment.0

Hmmm, looking a the Q&A for the products:I want to place an order cold winter jacker of dhb.
In ur descriptions, both of them(aeron full protection softsehll and classic or blok windslam softsehll) are ift to cold winter riding.
I want to know differeces between them in terms of warmth. The Aeron range is higher performance than both the Blok and Classic ranges. It involves more technical construction, a better feature set and a more performance fit. It is a much more Premium product.
All in all, this is our warmest and best winter top to date.
andHi, Can you advise of the differences / benefits of this over the dhb Blok Micro Softshell Windslam Roubaix Jacket? They both say they are wind proof and offer water protection so unsure of which to order. ThanksBoth are pretty similar but the Blok would offer a little more protection from the wind.
Both 'staff' answers but both contradictory...0 -

Both products are described as "Performance" fit rather than "Professional" fit (which is the ASV range), but as I said earlier no apparent difference for the price other than look.0 -
Useless Wiggle staff
One is Windslam, whoever DHB get that from. The Aeron is windtex, which should, in theory, be made by Vagotex. Odd that it doesn't state this, but it certainly is as the sticked says so. Both are in theory a windproof with some DWR coating. I suspect that Windtex is slightly more advanced and slightly more expensive. The Blok stuff feels slightly "rougher" than the smoother Aeron. Bloody good but doesn't quite have the same premium feel.
Big difference round the back mind. The Blok has no venting. The Aeron has a big vent sewn across the shoulders. It's a shame the Aeron isn't on special special offer as you might feel that £40 is a big jump. Which it is. But it's bloody good. It's what I'll be wearing next week.My blog: http://www.roubaixcycling.cc (kit reviews and other musings)

Thanks, that's very helpful. I may hang on for the next discount on the Aeron Range, they were all cheaper before the "sale".
I suspect discounts are deliberately limited while people spend the vouchers they got for Christmas.0 -
Yup, peed off s I'd rather try the Castelli Alpha jersey, ordered 2 sizes. Would have tried the aeron stuff but think Castelli is better value.
How do you figure it's better value?
I was waiting weeks for the aeron range to drop in price, then I found the alpha jersey thread and the comments on the thread and BTRs blog, I feel that it will be better value for me, especially at the current price. Of £113 Comments about it covering most seasons. I don't really need a full jacket, I run hot, so the jersey seems great value. If the aeron jacket goes down to the price BTR got his then I'd consider getting it for the odd occasion I could be out in minus figures.
"See, I've worn the Alpha down to zero (starting off) and up to 15. Since our winters appear to have changed and we get little in the way of months of cold I didn't really see a need to keep the Alpha jacket. So I got the Aeron at £60 to fill in those gaps. Honest now, the Alpha is just so very versatile."0 -
I picked up a fair few bits of DHB gear over the festive period in the sales. Havent tried any on the road yet but really impressed with the quality of the stuff. Not sure why I havent looked before but for some reason I only seemed to look at Castelli. The DHB stuff almost makes the Castelli gear look dated. Im off somewhere warm tomorrow so looking forward to wearing shorts!0

Wore my Aeron Jacket today, in perhaps 4* & windy conditions, (very windy), with just a BaaBaa base layer, and it was excellent, didnt feel any cold, or overheat at all.
And more importantly, when I took it off, I was dry.
Worth every penny I think, when compared to castelli prices.0
