I have yet to summon the energy to reply to Pinno above, but feel saddened - especially at this time of year of all the times of the year - that The Mighty Dirk thread is not top of the Vintage Bikes leader board.
So here we are.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I thought that Italians had intrinsic style?!
We do - it's in the picture above. In real life, it's so lush as the sun glints off the pearlescent white paint onto the lime green onto to be sucked up by the unfathomable darkness of the carbon.
It's going to glint with no bits on it.
The patina of age
Wait a minute - I thought it glinted?
Both. Glinting patina. Its the new black.
mixing with the intrinsic hand made craftsmanship of the lovingly welded and formed steel tubing giving you a feeling of human joy within a machine
Your joy has fallen into the downtube?!
Its ok - I gave it a good yank and it came out again.
- deus ex machina - feelings that can be only formed, mounded, tempered by those who dare to exceed the norm,
Easy tiger, you have chucked bits on it in a manner similar to chucking your undies in the washing machine.
Each part has been thought about, weighed up, the form and function melding perfectly to ensure that an ultra high performance steed such as this one does not have one iota of shiteness dripping anywhere near it. The parts are perfectly matched. Primi Cycles Limited have not supplied any part of this bike, which is why I know it rocks.
break away from the sordid catalogue of Chain Reaction, Cervelo and Primi Sport and Cycle shop.
The box of bits in the shed and ebay?
Now this I take insult with. I would not touch any tat from Scuzbay with yours. It used to be bargains, now just tat you can't sell on the classifieds here.
It is form and function perfectly melded into a finely tuned machine.
Erm...
It is a work of art that is also a weapon.
It is a work of art assembled by a weapon.
This is brilliant. Chapeau. Its something I'm sure that I have said in the past but I'll give Pinno the credit here.
It is to be savoured and appreciated.
It needs help.
It needs nothing. It rocks. You are just jealous.
It is Dirk.
I think it is an 'Eddy' (of sorts).Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

If you have had a vintage Triumph TR4, you wouldn't put a whale fin and Weller wheels on it. If you had a Colnago Mexico you wouldn't furnish it with Ultegra... If you had an Airstream caravan, you wouldn't fit it out with a plastic kitchen...seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

It's got the gruppo, saddle, bars, stem it came with from the factory.
It's temporarily got a different seat post.
The wheels are period and so are the tan walls.
I may fit a whale fin yet.........
It rocks, Gallovidian.
Theoretically though, you can take something old and by using modern parts make it so much better - take my RGV. It's sort of-ish got and RGV frame and motor ....... But it's a billion times better than a 1992 M model....Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

I preferred the 60s to the Spinergys...
Must admit that I do sway on this, but the 60s are my race wheels on the race bike and the Spinergys were a third of the price of new 60s (plus saving another £40 on top by not having to buy carbon specific pads....
But I see where you are coming from
Depending on how it rides, it may get 60s next summer or sold.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am

Oh - ok then.
I'll post a piccie with new cages on, 'bars straightened up a bit, new brakes fitted. Let me drink some coffee, go for a run with The Hound and get morning admin sorted.
I'll even order the cassette today and pick up a quick-link from the shop. 11 - 21 it is.Postby team47b » Sun Jun 28, 2015 11:53 am
