  • Question is, would Harris or Van Aert have won if they hadn't punctured? Van Der Poel was very impressive though. Once he gets fully up to speed, will be interesting to see him against Van Aert.

PFP tweets that she's done her knee in and that she'll be out for 6 weeks. Cyclocross season likely over!

I am heartbroken, may as well just give the WC Jersey to Sanne Cant now and save the money...

Some excellent names in the junior results from the Flandriencross at weekend - clearly, many of them made up. I think Mitch Groot is my favourite. Good to see some Yanks breaking through the usual Euro domination with Gage Hecht and Florian Stumpf. And can there be anyone not looking forward to Thomas D'Hooge winning something big in the future?

Not even a mention of Wymans win? Or Harris continued podiuming? Shaaaaaaame!!!

unbelivable we're able to produce this talent when TeamGB dont even know the sport exists.

He had mechanicals on both days, or is that what you meant?
  • A great battle at the front for a few laps between Helen Wyman and Verscheuren, proper 'no quarter given' stuff

Anyone know what was wrong with Sanne Cant? She pulled up rather quickly on that last lap

I think that was down to bike/ mech issues.

Really? She pulled off at the base of a run up holding her side, she wasn't even looking at the bike.

She clearly had problems after that though, I suspect something had happened to the pedal (full of mud probably) and it slipped when she dismounted so she bashed herself on the bar/stem (I don't have Goat's skillz but I think that's what she says at the end too)

To be fair it looks like she was having a crap day before that and it's a mark of her quality that she was in third for so long. Taking a punch from the bike couldnt have helped bless her, My older brotherly feelings were running strong again watching her

Great ride by Verscheuren again though, if she couold just get a start sprint she'd be a star! I think Helen Wyman says that she has a full time job in that interview too!!

Think Sanne has been having issues with her stomach lately anyway? If i remember correctly.

I have a good feeling one of the Brit pair could sneak the Worlds this year. Hope its a proper modder for Wyman.

    Of a race 2 weeks ago ;)

    @Lee

She clearly wasnt right (though I'm not sure such a rolling course suits her as it so obviously suits Jolien). I did wonder if it was just a bad time of the month for her too - something we boys don't have to worry about

She [Verscheuren] seems to have loads of power but her technique is rough, there's no smooth transitions out of corners but then she seems to be able to get out of the saddle on sections others can't. And I know I'm one to talk but she's a bit like a nodding dog in the saddle.

Her trouble is lack of power really, she is tiny! One of these people that really do look bigger on the telly. She's minescule. I ve said before that if she was any other nationality she'd be a mountain goat on the road.

Both her and Cant share a style with Chris Froome it must be said (and also makes heap big sense when you think where Froome learnt to ride a bike..)
