CAS didn't allow this as evidence in his case. They also didn't allow the evidence that the farmer in question's brother had a clenbuterol conviction. It works both ways.
And poor little Bert's lawyers fought against evidence being presented re plasticizers. So yeah, boo hoo
No boo hoo, it is all about balance which is clearly out of place on an internet forum. If you believe in guilt by association then Contador was clearly doping 2006-9, but then he did indeed have a dodgy steak in 2010.
Contador's lawyers fought to prevent evidence that plasma could have been transferred without plasticisers being present. I can see both points of view as to why this was an outrage and a reasonable decision.
On the whole I think CAS did a good job and took a balanced view.0 -
Still won more GTs than anyone else in his generation. Riders have come and gone but he's stayed in the hunt.
Rasmussen, Schleck, Evans, Froome, Nibali. He's beaten them all in a GT at some point.
Armstrong too...
Never was a huge fan of AC but watching him sticking it to Lance was a rare pleasure.0 -
did used to love watching him racing from 2006-09 when he just used to attack and crush everyone. Remember one Paris Nice where he had bonked and lost a shedload of time, may have been 08-09 and he attached on the final day to try and win it still. He made up the time on the road during the stage but got reeled in at the end. How many of riders would both to do that. Same with his attacks on Alp D'Huez stages in the past.
Doesn't seem the same rider any more, but having off days seems to be a sign of being cleaner so maybe that is a good thing.
Would like to see him have another go at the classics, always a rider that cared about his palmares he could do with adding more than just stage races to it0 -

The clenbuterol conviction headed off another possible prosecution that might have led to a longer sentence and more damage to his reputation.0 -

At least he's got respect for the French even if he hasn't shown much for cycling in his career.0 -

Pfft, don't see why celebrations (however sh!te or trivial) should fall victim to terrorism.0 -

He should just never have done it in the first place. Was crass before the Paris attacks.0 -

He may not get a chance to use his celebration this year anyway.
Unless he breaks his shoulder/knee/leg in one of the early stages.0 -

OK, I will. Just off to pen my 3 page resignation letter from the forum. :shock:0 -
He was able to fly with the Chicken and yet he really expects the public to believe he raced clean?
He also seems to think he's a better climber than Froome.
Maybe he should speak to The Chicken's old Doctor? Rasmussen was on a mission in 2007 :shock:Supporter of Sky, transparency and clean cycling. Opponent of pseudoscience.

Contador has beaten Froome wheel-to-wheel so not an unreasonable statement.
True. He even got banned for drug use before Froome.0 -
Before Froome what?
May I remind you of the rules on defamatory posts?

Christ, someones just been told Santa isn't visiting this year...
Just pointing out that Contador has been banned for drug abuse. Froome hasn't.
I looked at the defamatory posts bit, but I'm pretty certain I'm safe when it comes to Contador as its well known he was done for drugs, unless you want to tell me different? :?:0 -

Good. No worries then.
Cheer up man. Have a mince pie! Its Christmas! Monday morning blues?0 -

Are you pulling up someone saying Contador has cheated, but openly leave posts in other threads saying riders (with no implication in cheating) are doping?0 -
No. Wanted to make sure he wasn't inferring Froome had since that would be.
He didn't, so all good. Carry on.0 -

Good ok, it didn't come out like that to me. Have a good day.0 -
Contador suggesting that he won't retire at the end of this season. He's getting closer to setting up a new team for himself next year...0

I'm pleased with that, he's still a great racer and a compelling figure.
Perhaps this news can tempt Frenchie out of retirementIt's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0
