But risk debonding and collapsing at high temperature. Like the original carbon clinchers."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Depends whether the carbon part is structural or a fairing. On HED's/Mavic it's a fairing. Not sure about Vision0

^ and let us not forget, it comes with a free matching pen.
Seriously WTF fellas??0 -
A matching pen is what I've always wanted with my bike!0

Specialized Allez, now with front mech hanger and yours for 1100 of your US dollars. Will be interesting to see that colour (only one available) on a built up bike.

I think Specialized missed a trick here. They only released the most expensive Allez sprint in the UK. Surely loads of people would want the cheap ones to use as a race bike for Crits and Hog hill etc? The really expensive S Works one kind of defeats the point of your cheaper alu crit bike?!
The US gets a $2000 dollar one which is a bit more wallet friendly.
Incidentally, our S Works Allez Sprint is £4000, the US one is $3750, or £2657.69 That's a bit of a pisstake!0 -
I would like one of those with the front mech. Could never justify only being able to race it in crits for that price!0

^That's horrible0

On an article on the BR homepage at the moment there is a picture of a Peugot electric fat bike which is the epitome of everything that is wrong with bike design at the moment. I won't post it here as it is hardly Pro Race material..
That Rapha kit looks A) bland and overpriced - not surprised in the slightest0 -

Anyone who can get in a position to ride that Giant bike should not need a motor. Ridiculous0

Background.
I recently was knocked off my bike and as a result my insurance company are covering me for a replacement bike to equivalent spec.
Basically the equivalent bike is a Giant TCR Advanced 1 with Mavic Kysrium elite WTS but I do have the option of going for the Giant TCR Advance Pro 1 with the standard Giant SLR 1 composite wheelset.
As I understand the two frames are identical with the exception that the Pro 1 has a carbon steerer and can take RideSense. So the price difference between the bikes seems to be due to the ("superior"?) Giant Wheelset.
My last 3 wheelsets have all been Mavic Kysrium Elite and I've been happy with them.
A friend reckons I can't go wrong with the lesser TCR Advanced 1 with Mavic Kysriums - that they're bullet proof and he would go for that combination.
I'm undecided. I do like the look of the Pro and I have read some good reviews on it and the Giant Wheelset and I like the fact that the frame is RideSense ready (although I would have thought the Advanced 1 would be too).... but if the main real difference is the wheels and the wheels aren't as good as the Mavic then it seems it would make sense to stay with the Advanced rather that the Advanced Pro.
I don't ride in the rain (if I can help it) and I don't do any racing.
What is your advice?0 -
