Super clean front end on Blythes bike;
I really want a PC8... When the government finally send me my tax rebate my wife will be informed it's €695 less than it really is."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

It does feel like a product that is already obsolete to me. I suppose the weird beards cyclists who eschew electronics can still say they re bike is mechanical but not have to deal with cables
There is a certain hipster sort of appeal to it that it will be a very niche groupset - can't help but feel that they should be releasing a mountain bike group to satisfy the sort of people who aren't as bothered about aesthetic as a lot of roadies are (the fat bike crowd basically)0 -

So finally read up on that Rotor groupset. What a strange idea.
This quote from BR's story firmly puts me off. Why would you buy a groupset like that? However, the action is markedly different from anything released to date from Shimano, SRAM, or Campagnolo (or FSA, for that matter) with a much heavier feel and a more muted and slightly disconnected sensation since the indexing is at the far end of the hydraulic lines. That heaviness carries over to the brakes, too, which seem very positive but also require a fair bit of effort to actuate.0 -

Beats me - that just sounds grimNapoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

It does sound like a steam-punk solution to a problem that doesn't exist. If I.K. Brunel had been into bikes he'd probably have invented hydraulic shifting...
Compared with say the SRAM wireless electronic kit, which does seem to address quite a few issues at once.0 -
I think Armstrong might have beaten him to it - hydraulics hero!0

Am I right in thinking that no WT teams are on mechanical groupsets this year?0

Am I right in thinking that no WT teams are on mechanical groupsets this year?
Seems to be that way, apart from the one or two riders who still opt for mechanical DA (Cancellara does I think)0 -
Has anyone else noticed the recent increase in riders having spacers on their steerers? Kwiato, Froome, and Renshaw are 3 I've seen today alone.0

Perhaps they've finally realised it's better if a bike fits rather than just looks cool with a slammed stem!0

Nibs likes to keep it mechanical too.0 -

Floyd Landis rode with an upturned stem, nodder style. But he wasn't really a pro cyclist; more a doped redneck on a bike.Ben

A bit bling, but quite nice details close up. Celabrates Graeme Browns 14th TdU appearance.

I take that back - he 'liked to - looks like he's on EPS this year.0 -

Single chainring, handmade carbon gravel bike. I like it, though that rear wheel looks very close to the seat tube!

Have ridden many a cross race where the back wheel has actually stopped turning due to mud (Myrtle Park in Bingley was a particularly bad one), with "proper" cross clearances, I'm not fully convinced that that would cut it over here! Saw a piece about it on Facebook though and apparently you get a fair few at the sharp end of races though0
