Just saw a clubmate's photo on Facebook and not content with having been staying in a chalet on the finish line at Alpe D'Huez for the last few days he's got a picture of himself being driven across the finish line today in the Tinkoff team car courtesy of a soigneur he knows.0

I've got a lot of respect for guys that come back from bans and still compete for wins (assuming the obvious). He's been one of the all-round most entertaining riders for years. Great result. Impressive double-act with Nairo. It can't have been easy keeping both of them happy while still pressing for the win....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Did anyone catch that Froome now himself has said that he doesn't constantly looks down on the computer. It's to prevent pain in the neck and he breathes better this way.0

Chris Froome spat at again, looked around, he knew it happened. When asked 'how were the fans,? He never mentioned it. Class act, no whining.
I was watching the fans' reactions to Froome all the way through. And it's fair to say many were giving him some 'friendly advice' (with contorted faces).
Yes. I think some people see it as a pantomime, for Froome though the emotions and pressure must have been untenable.
I believe Paula Radcliffe is clean by the way, just worked her guts out.
I guess we'll see over the next few months.0 -

Nice. This is what happens when journalists are irresponsible.

i've been finding myself been less cold to valverde the past year or so. it's as if he's suffenly decided he wants to enjoy riding instead of just sucking wheels to try and win."Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -

That's way better than all the crap sprint ones people get all excited about. You can see just how bloody annoying even the better behaved fans are when there's a lot of them together too.0 -

He may be the Dick Dastardly of the peloton but he always gives 100%, and is incredibly talented. I admire him.0 -

That is bad. Might also be the only useful eye opener from Twitter during the tour, and Twitter is ironically where a lot of the sh1t gets perpetuated that makes this kind of thing happen.
Can't stand twitter.0 -

Given Rabobanks history is ironic really. It's not so much about winning, I just hate losing.0 -

he has gone through a similar transformation in my eyes over the past 6 months0 -
Where's FF today, put himself on block?
I've missed his ramblings
I thought the 'fans' on the Alpe would be far more of a problem today, thought someone would end up on the deck.
The on bike footage through the crowd is a bit insane, and on the descent. Will be good when that's available in the realtime tv coverage.0 -
Valverde has really won me over this tour and blubbing like a baby for his podium just seals the deal!0

Fantastic win for Froome in the face of some disgraceful abuse fuelled by some shit stirring press. The pressure he's been under must been been ridiculous. He clearly had to grind out these last few stages sub par, exactly what champions do.
Some might not like his riding style but he's got proper guts. They said he couldn't ride the cobbles or descend either..........he's answered a few questions on this tour.0 -

I don't think Dutch Corner has ever been any different, has it? Remember the abuse TV Tommy got a few years ago? It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
The tour has been tainted with the constant press questions over doping, the spitting and threats of spraying Froome with urine. What a pity.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

Duty call for a few days so couldn't watch the stage. Lots of good links on this thread so thanks. The one of Valverde makes everything about today ok! The guy is fuiroclasse and I have been a fan since forever and am glad to see lots of you warm to him over the last couple of years after the amount of abuse he sustained on these forums. He started in 2003 and did it with a bang and a scream from a palmares perspective (well worth a gander). 8 years of trying for the Tour podium and now he gets it and never by riding wheels.
Got to love little Nairo whose voice and face bely his stature and age. I wish they did more interviews with him. Guy is poetry on the bike when he attacks, pure joy creation visually and emotionally.
Congratulations Froome on your 2nd GT win, one more and you match Nibali. It wasnt pretty today and it wasnt impressive but you won the Tour. I would have been very scared myself to ride up there today with all those numpties (constant booing). As for the video posted by G, they are all from Ned so I wouldnt expect much, still complete and utter tossers.
Pinot, Pinot, very little congratulations on here but you have mine. Excellent win albeit with that odd style of his. Very pleased he and Bardet got a huge win and fought hard on other days; animators.
Contador, I must admit I thought he would be challenging for the win so disappointed with his performance but then I suppose I underestimate the Giro fatigue. And those grey socks mate, just plain wrong, like wearing tracksuit bottoms and dress shoes.
Hope you guys enjoyed the Tour overall. Been a very mixed bag from my side.Contador is the Greatest0 -

I'd like to see Contador focus squarely on the tour next year, give it 100%. Race will be better0 -

The sheer numbers on L'alpe d'Huez warrants putting barriers up for large parts of it.seanoconn - gruagach craic!0

It's noticeable that Froome's voice as changed in the last 2 or 3 days. More nasal, perhaps some form of infection from road spray. He did well to hang on. Porte's post stage remarks seem to indicate he was pacing Froome slightly slower than planned.
Rowe and Steve Cummings have their say
