That's straining the definition of "different". I'm sure Barguil and Contador both thought they were in control, right up until they weren't. Are you suggesting they start removing people for causing any type of crash? I guess it might be a good idea if you think the peloton is too large, because after the first week it'd be a lot smaller...
Yes, but you can't start trying to throw people off the race for making a mistake on a descent - should Contador have been kicked out after nearly taking Froome down in 2013 for example?
Racing accident surely...That was a terrible crash, worrying they've not cut back to him, or no up date on race radio.
Hopefully Barguill is removed from the race tonight. That was an appalling move.

It was a stupid move, obviously not concentrating or pushing too hard and thinking he can take some riders on the inside. Foolish move, ITV commentators talking about how Barguill has been questioned about pushing too hard down hill.
If they chuck people out and dock them time for "dangerous" moves in sprints, they can for Barguill, looking at the replay, it's even worse, he had no control over himself or his bike. Contadors move was different, he was in control and just overly cooked it. Barguill was dangerous and cut across various peoples racing lines.

Not all riders, but imo that was a dangerous move, he had 0% chance of controlling that speed in that corner.

Not denying he's at fault, even if he didn't get hit by someone. Still don't think he should be kicked off the race because he accidentally knocked someone else off the road and managed to stay upright himself. Did the guy responsible for this incident receive any punishment??

Yeah I'll have to watch that. Eurosport did get a quick interview with G but wasn't very good, Brailsford took him away before they could say much.
They do have a Contador interview now though which is cool. Says his form definitely isn't as good as at the Giro (duh).0 -

We both know the rules of cycling are interpreted on a case by case basis (see the Giro), Barguill move was dangerous and imo he should be removed from the race. If Renshaw and the head butts is removable this is just as dangerous, and he should be gone.0 -

In an interview I only half-caught, Barguil was saying his arm was knocked, which knocked his hand off the brake-lever for a second or two, thus ruining his line.
That settles it then. His brakes should have been set up Right-front, Left-back!0 -

Renshaw butting someone was obviously a deliberate action on his part. Unless you think Barguil intended to hit G then they're not comparable. Intent is the important thing here. Anyone can make a mistake, if you deliberately try to injure or impede another rider then that makes punishment much more appropriate.
