In other news, Alastair Campbell has been expelled from the Labour party for voting Lib Dem:

It would appear that even Labour has standards

Can you suggest a successor. In all seriousness as I know little about his colleagues.

Starmer would be a colossal improvement.
    Tom Watson, no?

True, but the list of candidates who wouldn't be a colossal improvement is quite short. However it is one of those who will probably replace him due to the hard left membership base.

In the meantime, Labour members are queueing up to be expelled from the party like Alastair Campbell

Wonder if I can get my 3 quid back? :)

I thought £3 just made you a registered supporter rather than a full member.

Gotta love the venom with which some Labour members use the word Blairite.

I remember now, it was the registered supporter thing. Why spend more when that allowed me to vote for JC? Anyway, they could alway deregister me - maybe I'll send them a link to this thread? :)

No, anyone who would probably vote for him in a new leadership contest gets to stay. You're locked in for the long haul.

They put the price up after the initial flood of new 'supporters' and I wasn't going to give them more than £3 once Corbyn was installed as their new liability :) So really I am out, apart from getting leftiebollox emails from time to time about supporting the glorious revolution.

Slightly fascinating how nobody seems to be calling for Corbyns resignation after the Euro election. He's performed almost as badly as May yet it just seems to be taken for granted that he just be allowed to carry on dithering.

True, although having such a dithering liability heading up the Labour party has its benefits, as there is a slim chance he could be replaced by someone more competent/electable :)

Saw that in a bank report this morning. Interesting.

"UK: poll suggests Remain coalition could win general election without a 'Corbyn risk' – In the first major poll of voting intentions for a General Election published since the results of the European elections in the UK were announced on Sunday, YouGov puts the Liberal Democrats (24%, +6pp compared to YouGov’s last poll two weeks ago) and the Brexit Party (22%, +4pp) ahead of both Labour (19%, -5pp) and the Conservatives (19%, -5pp). Together with the SNP, Plaid Cymru and the Greens, the Remain camp gets 38% of voting intentions. Comment: Clearly chances are rising that voters would desert the main parties at a general election as well and turn it into another referendum on Brexit only. This poll would point to a clear majority for the Remain camp and, very importantly, suggest that Labour’s Jeremy Corbyn would not be the Prime Minister of a Remain coalition. His economic policies would not play as big a role as polls suggested just a few months ago. Whether voters will really vote like this in a first-past-the-post system and what it would mean for seat distribution remains to be seen."

Meanwhile, Corbyn engages in some grandstanding in Parliament Square, snubs the invite to the state banquet but asks for a meeting with Trump - who snubs him.

    Oh, the indignity :D

Hilarious. He sounded deranged....just what is needed to ensure he never becomes PM.

Also wouldn't answer when questioned by press why he attended state visit of Xi Jinping or had meetings with Hamas.

Trump is a leader of capitalism which is much worse than China or Hamas. I mean people get to tell Trump he is a twat daily and all they get back is a childish tweet. In China you get banged up or shot for that kind of dissent. Common get with the Corbyn logic.

You're a bit behind the curve if you think Corbyn is pro-China, given it gave up on socialism (as Corbyn knows it) a long time ago.

Corbyn is not a leader, unless you count leading from the middle. All this time, Labour has been directionless on their policy for Brexit, with Corbyn waiting to see which way everyone wants to be led.

Anyone who likewise wanted a completely unsuitable person to lead the Conservatives into long term decline is in the fortunate position of being able to do it for free by leaving it to the existing membership. Quids in.

Good to see Labour looking to increase our international influence if they take power:

The mask does seem to slip quite often with McDonnell.

I'm sure that if the Express has misquoted 'Chairman Mao' McDonnell then he will be suing them. Not seen that yet.
