A bit ironic given that his missus has just been beaten because people felt they’d been shafted and they didn’t expect anything to happen anyway, so they just wanted the maddest person in the room to represent them.

No Bally, you ve spent quite a lot of effort slagging off the Clintons (totally unfairly imo) and everything they do BUT the moment they say something that remotely supports your anti labour/Corbyn views, you r on it like a dog to a bone.
well, you ve got your wish and the Clintons are no more.

The Clintons are no more? Perhaps yes, perhaps no.

What a can of worms that would be if Obama pardoned her, sorry, them.. The stench would be nauseating. Besides, they have done nothing wrong have they?
To accept a pardon would be an admission of wrongdoing. To even offer a pardon would be to accept that the President knew they we operating illegally.

Sorry the labour party still exists I have not heard from them for a while. I remember now the maddest person in the room is leader. I'm joking by the way.

On a serious note I am politically aware but I am not clear what exactly the labour party stands for these days beyond the vagaries of fairness. That to me is a real problem. Sort it out Labour please, please. I dont care who is your leader so long there is a clear message that I and other can buy as real.

A bit cart before the horse, no? Is there really such a thing as a preemptive pardon for one or more unspecified crimes? An actual get out of jail free card?

Gerald Ford pardoned Nixon for all crimes committed against the USA, before Nixon had even been indicted, neveermind found guilty.

To get this thread back on track.
Who'd be a Labour MP with John McDonnell, their Shadow Chancellor, organising protests against them to make sure it is kicking off?

    Almost feel sorry for them.

We can't be the only ones who find John McDonnell a bit sinister. Labour is doing quite well of keeping out the headlines but the internal civil war clearly hasn't gone away.

  • And what's wrong with being French? How right wing are you Stevo?:wink::wink::D
Right wing enough for the old le Pen or just Marinne le Pen levels?

PS her daughter's been tipped as having a bright future in politics too.

So the French right are doing what UK left did with selling leadership votes for very little just to get higher supporter figures? Isn't that kind of the difference.between our countries? Our left are desperate for money and support but the French right are in that situation. If we're more right wing nation then France must be more left wing perhaps?

    Oooh, so cutting :)

If you had the prospect of the Le Pen lot getting into government, would you want to be French? And don't get me started on tax...

The Tories are very much on the back foot in the business context with lobbyists, Cabinet Ministers and their own MP's growing more vocal due to a lack of shape in thoughts and deeds when it comes to business.

Any more corporation tax reductions May? The level of tax has already been reduced past the point of what was previously communicated through government policy and smells like panic in government.

I would never want to be French because I do not agree with their approach to maintaining their culture through language control and the other means they have. They're trying to prevent the natural development of their language I I believe. Whereas in England we just let any Americanism in.

There's something about confidence in your culture being low if you feel the need for protection. Plus I don't like the way France has proper summer's and winters. I much prefer our unpredictable climate.
One question, what do you make of ms le Pen? I kind of admire how she's been transforming the party. Even her power struggle with her dad for control of the party. IIRC he's been expelled!

She's made it less overtly racist and more just xenophobic by focussing on anti immigration. UKIP did that and they're slipping out of the BNP or nf territory doing that.

I.bet a lot of right wing parties are doing the softly, softly shift in focus. Take away the image or language of overt racism and you'll gain voters. A push for power and influence. UKIP got it through forcing the referendum I reckon. Marinne is getting it through clinging onto the skirt tales of UKIP forced Brexit and the trump shock votes. Without those events I wonder how she'd be doing?

Personally the more loons power the nearer we'll be to a change in politics. Corbyn is our loon, glad it's on the other side too- That's the left wing of politics in case my grammar school viewpoint had.you doubting my right wing views.

I think the leave campaign did UKIP a favour by excluding them> Nige never stopped talking, but was able to moderate his language and the spotlight was off the typical UKIP members for the duration. Obviously since then they have demonstrated yet again what a hopeless excuse they are for a party - just a bunch of thugs.
