I hope they tell the Eugene Christophe story this year... A rare treat"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

well I enjoyed it...0 -
A question - What's Rob Hatch doing at this time of year? Does he have to look after the home of cycling while Friebe bimbles round France in a Jag?0

What's irritating is that with the new commentary team, ITV4's Giro highlights packages were superb - so much better than Eurosport's half-arsed 'repeat of the last hour of racing'.
Millar told you more about the peloton, about tactics and about individual riders in 30 mins than Sherwen and Liggett will in three weeks of their endless banal droning.
And Boulting is a professional broadcaster with a sense of humour.
TV producers are just idiots.0 -
Can't see this posted anywhere and this seems to be the general TdF thread

Will they be operating a shoot to kill policy ?0 -
Boardman just made it look like the climb was incredibly hard work, yet was talking the whole way up with no loss of breath.0

One part he was talking straight in to the camera for at least 30s.0 -
Any recommendations for a café/bar in Puerto Pollenca to watch the Tour?“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0

Any recommendations for a café/bar in Puerto Pollenca to watch the Tour?
Cafe 1919 will almost certainly have it on, and if not they'll probably put it on if you ask.0 -

On the corner across from the bus stop.

That's the one. Can recommend the food too.0 -

Tolo's on the front is the traditional big cycling hang out, it'll be busy! - but I'd expect it to be shown pretty widely around P.Pa.0 -

Great for Cavendish.
That Tour stage win record is getting closer...
Though having said that Greipel looks mighty.
Really? He always seems inconsistent to me. If he positions himself perfectly then he'll be a match for Cavendish. If he doesn't then he generally finishes off the podium.
Yeah he had a great ZLM tour and Lotto are a good leadout team.

Bit random
What happens if a (Norwegian) journalist tries to eat a TdF rider's daily diet of 8000 calories?

I wish I could eat 8000 calories a day without becoming morbidly obese. I don't think I'd pick those foods though!0

Farrar rocking a PT. I guess he needs something to draw attention to him as his racing certainly isn't doing the trick.

Isn't his usual strategy to stack it and cause a pile up on a random straight bit of road? It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Quit ragging on my man!
Admittedly he's only my man because of where he makes his home and that he likes a beer, but I'll defend him to the last, you monsters."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

How can he live in Belgium when he's clearly a Shoreditch hipster?0 -

Gent is the Mecca of Flemish hipsterism. In a city of 250,000 people there are 4 vintage bike shops and more juice bars than you can shake a stick at"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

More beef about Sky choking up hotel carparks with their fleet of vehicles. "Disrespectful" LottoNL boss Richard Plugge tells De Telegraaf.Contador is the Greatest0 -
Not sure if you have noticed but Chris Froome has his personal shade provider:
