So i take it you would rather be ruled by a even more remote body then i take it?

By that logic you'd rather be ruled by your local council....

So by your logic you would rather be ruled by the EU then?
    What's my logic?

So tell me, who would you like to run the country then?

He will say the Germans. It's in his blood for him to roll over and be ruled by them without putting up a fight...

Not necessarily, some people want to be born in this country for various reasons!

it is a good question but one that I can not answer as conversely I have no idea why anybody places any value on it. I genuinely have no idea why anybody would rather be ruled by Westminster purely because they are British.
So i take it you would rather be ruled by a even more remote body then i take it?
How on earth can you possibly want to be born anywhere? You might want your own children to be born somewhere and I suppose you might wish you were born somewhere else but you have absolutely no control of where you are born.

To the second question, honestly don't give a damn. Parliament might as well be on the Moon.
You spend a lot of time posting on a forum about a government you dont care about.

Well i lived in Germany for a number of years and they have as many faults as us, trust me! but I`ll probably have to eat humble pie as Rick tells me of his extensive experience of living on continent and how its all milk and honey! ;)

If England was being invaded I certainly wouldn’t risk my life to defend it.

I presume that statement rather depends on how you think the insurgents will treat your family. A competent governing force isn't necessarily a nice one.
Nope - not being religious or belief in an afterlife makes my life precious to me. Probably irrelevant as to my lack of interest in sovereignty
Right. Now try to hold that thought and pretend you are saying that as a Bosnian in 1991.
But surely the ones on the other side doing the murdering were nationalists banging on about sovereignty?

My grandfathers generation fought and lost their lives for my and our freedoms today.

I am not going to let some jumped up little anarchist denigrate our country because his land of birth has a backbone made of toilet paper. Especially when said anarchist is living safely and comfortably off our grandfathers sacrifice.

I would never, unlike others here, take credit for or give away this country and our freedoms that my grandfathers generation gifted to us with their sacrifices. It would be disrespectful for all that they went through for me to give up this country and the freedoms they fought for.

It wasn't the Dutch people that now allow him to live his comfy lifestyle and the freedoms that he and his family have. Maybe he should consider this before continually talking down this great country. If he doesn't like living here he can f*ck off. He won't though as there is no where better to go, despite his continued anarchist and disrespectful views.

Sorry about this Rick. You're welcome to stay. You can even point out some flaws, even though Coops Grandad happened to be born on the better side of a sea shortly before a war we barely won with help from overseas.

I suspect the majority of them would be mortified we are breaking up the EU and that some are using their legacy as an excuse, though I'm under no illusions that we'll agree about that.

As long as disagreements focus on arguments, not on pointless point scoring, or name calling, it's an interesting place to be. It's a credit to most of the posters, most of the time.

Indeed. But if you are a victim of ethnic cleansing then the motivation is irrelevant.
