That should make him an instant must-have for the pro teams. A rider with a dodgy past and a love of pies is what every DS is after.

and finished alongside ex-Sky teammate Josh Edmondson. Any idea what's happened to him - seems a big drop in level (this is not an insinuation of anything BTW)?

Which is an achievement in that race I think.

Although there are some club/elite, never ridden at WT level, riders ahead of him.

Surely Sky would have a doping comeback clause in their contracts?

2 year deal cancelled after a year, take out fees for lawyers, agents etc. etc. he probably had just about enough to p!ss in a pot, and that's where it all started to go wrong!

Nah, half a mil salary with a big prize money share on top, agent fees aren't that much and he didn't spend a huge amount in his appeal. There's a reason why he's not working and had a property portfolio and it isn't from his salary at endurance.
  • He'd have been paid up until July '14 when the UKAD verdict was announced wouldn't he? Whilst he was provisionally suspended from racing from Sept '13 whilst he had a case to answer, presumably they couldn't not honour the contract until the verdict was handed down? Whether they are able to re-claim the money from Sept '13 to July '14 is another matter.
In reality as the verdict was he was at it in 2012 even before signing for Sky (and that helped him get that deal) all of the salary was ill-gotten. A few hundred grand isn't a big deal really for Sky though so they may well have preferred to just write it off rather than pursue him.
