G-A is going to start focusing on GC with Tom Dumoulin, and so Kittel's support will suffer. Probably fancies a change of scenery after this season too.0 -

That may be true... though the Kittel issues were brewing long before Dumoulin's stonking performance at the Vuelta. I reckon relations started to fray when he got sick and Degenkolb won PR and MSR. He felt marginalised and without him this year the team have realised that they can still manage just fine thank you...0 -

Brian Smith responded with great speed and expedience (in these very pages, apart from elsewhere, I believe) to make it clear that he had complete faith in JTL. The successful development lineage of Team Endura, then Net App (and now MTN Quebeka ?) might have been called into more question right now if he hadn't. Didnt Endura at or near the top of the Conti rankings in 2012 largely on account of JTL's results?0 -

So he wanted a team where he was under less pressure for results?
:roll:Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.0 -

Tjallingii to retire after the Dutch champs next year."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

not surprised - he must be knackered - he's done a 15,000 km year (50% more than Froome) which has included nearly all the classics, the Giro and Vuelta , Paris Nice, Andalucia, Romandie, Eneco, ZLM, Australia at start of season and Richmond at end!
and 38 this year! AND won Holland's sexiest vegetarian of the year!

That isnt that much for a WT cyclist, I would expect all full time cyclists to be at that number already.Scott Addict 2011

yes that's racing miles at WT or 2.1/1.1. T hat's in 90 days of racing at the highest level - its an average of a 100 miles per race day at that level (which includes short tt's, prologues, ttt etc) I'm sure there's loads more crits and minor races before you start talking training and reccy miles0 -
