Definitely seems to be something of an old-time Garmin feel to the riders they're signing this year.
Apart from the fact they're not ex-dopers (or active, in Danielson's case)
They also possess the attraction of coming cheap. And that's a real consideration for Vaughters, given the finances0 -
^ Wow. Jeff mark II. Uncanny. It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.0

Cav and Wiggo have been ever so chummy of late. Maybe a side move to Team Wiggins and concentrate on the track, retire quietly then make a move to get in on the team sponsorship? Team Wiggins Cavndsh (I think that's how he spells it). Whatever Cav does within the next 5 years, you can be sure it is geared around making as much money as he can for a secure future. I like his grumpy approach and his attitude in interviews, but he does seem greedy to me.Cube Attain SL Disc

On a slightly related note, Julien Bernard is currently doing the USA Pro Challenge as a stagiare with Trek. He's the son of the evanescent Jean-François so it will be interesting to see what genes he's inherited.
and very well he is riding as well.

I think Crampeur's casual-as-you-like deployment of the word 'evanescent' should not pass unmarked0

If by 'greedy' you mean 'naturally wants to secure the best possible income for himself and his family' then I would agree. That's what I suspect most of us do every working day of the week.0 -

By greedy I mean he money would make his mind up with all racing decisions, rather than do what is best for him. He has already secured his future, and he is already a very rich manCube Attain SL Disc

This.
His lead out train sprint finish doesn't work anymore when he is up against other decent trains. Sprint on sprint, he doesn't have an edge over other sprinters anymore. The more sprints he loses, the more he will look for an excuse, or a way out. I like cav, but hes not as strong as Kittel when it comes to a sprint. And he knows itCube Attain SL Disc

But what if Bale decided "sod it, i'm loaded i'm gonne go play for my home town club"? Could easily be "sod it, i'm loaded and i want an olympic medal""Unfortunately these days a lot of people don’t understand the real quality of a bike" Ernesto Colnago0 -

I think that's because he just had another kid.0 -
I think Cav voluntarily offered a reduced salary deal to EQS because he didnt feel he'd delivered enough, so hardly the work of an overly greedy man. Making a comparison as things stand with Kittel? Thats pretty funny
I'd say hes got a few years left at WT level, and a salary to match is a natural requirement.2020/2021/2022 Metric Century Challenge Winner0 -
Apparently Carlos Betancur had been sacked. I think he was out of contract at the end of the year any way.
Shame, really is, but it's totally his fault. He has deprived the fans of enjoyment.

Wanting to live life like a normal human being whilst being possessed of a supreme cardiovascular system. It surprises me we don't see this more often!"In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Nah, its a bit more complex than that with him, I believe.
Oh well, suspect we'll be doing a 'do you remember that Colombian guy' in years to come
I hope that if he does return to ride in Colombia, he doesn't get caught up in the cr'p going on in the domestic scene there0 -
