Sweet Jesus, ITV have surpassed themselves with the pundit line up tonight. Dixon, Scholes and Keane....if you squeezed the charisma out of those three you wouldn't fill a thimble :(

You think at some point there would be a former Man City player with extensive experience of European Nights to offer comment! Then again maybe not :D

They could always ask.. Patrick Viera, Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy or Bacary Sagna. Or heaven forbid Fat Frank!

TBF I was trying to think of a player that had actually won something in Europe (Yaya, perhaps and Frank) but you did say 'former ' player.

Five defenders, and a free header. WTF?
The above may be fact, or fiction, I may be serious, I may be jesting.
I am not sure. You have no chance.

Sloppy defending there but still 1-1 away, so advantage Chelsea.

I lost count of how many times Hazard was fouled, ridiculous.

They cut the threat out, it's called tactics.

Blimey, I thought it was accidental  . To be a bit clearer, there should have been more cards dished out for the fouls on Hazard.

About the same number of times he was rolling round like he'd been shot, trying to get fellow professionals booked! The cheating git!

Best of luck next week CB, it is always interesting to see how dodgy defences square up against Neymar, Suarez and Messi :D

It is always interesting to see how any defence squares up to Neymar, Messi and Suarez. CB better hope it is cold and wet for both fixtures 'cos Barca don't play well in the cold and wet (Re.: Real Sociedad).

As a Chelsea fan after watching it last night I can't really see us doing anything amazing and glam in the replay - grind out a 1-0 maybe?

    We weren't exactly amazing .......

Not sure how Manchester in February is going to be anything other than cold and wet?

Not sure how Manchester in February is going to be anything other than grey, cold and wet?[6]

[6] I don't think that weather in Manchester is unique to February. There's March, April, May, June, July...

City haven't really got CL pedigree. You may hope they actually progress because if they don't as City will only have one title to chase? As a Barca supporter, I don't think they have a snowflakes chance in hell. Messi is sparkling at the moment. I would love to see them play Chelski and avenge that result.

In some ways I'd like them to process for a bit longer as I'd rather we played City than Barca. That said, I think were more likely to face Messi & co.

Do you like Barca because they have a chance of doing what Arsenal can't do?

I like Barca because I love the city. I first went there in 88 and have been back and forward ever since. The connection goes back to Venables and later Gary Lineker. Of course God took over for one season (Bobby Robson) with a cracking year and surely you can remember his assistant who must credit him with his career to date? Frank Rijkaard although very creative was lax but Pepe Guardiola as far as I am concerned made Barca play some of the most mesmerising football I think the planet has ever witnessed. Pity he vowed never to come back.
When you stand in the Camp Nou, it is an awesome stadium with the most fantastic atmosphere that just sucks you in. I have been to quite a few stadiums - St James, Filbert St, Highbury, Villa Park and Whitehart Lane (3-2 win over Aston Villa April 1985, 44,000 people mostly standing, swaying around in the crush. I sat on my brothers shoulders for most of the game) but nothing compares to the Camp Nou. St James's park is like a cauldron with it's steep tiers. I only wish Newcastle were a top side pushing for honours. Filbert St was a mess, what a hole.
At the Camp Nou, you will never see such a perfect playing surface, even in January.

And presumably also because of that burd from Barcelona that you were knobbing?

Well, what does it matter anyway? It's all past tense. I used to have hair and I used to pull. I even had all of my own teeth, (minus 1 of them due to an incident with a stem/slipped on a rat trap incident when I was 13).

Women and friends; they came and went. Enemies: they still accumulate.

I hope Barca play better than they did against Elche as City may be in with a chance of progressing.

And there was me congratulating the @rse on their victory and moving into 3rd above Manyoo. However, with your attitude I may have to divert my insincere praise and pretend support for the Scousers and the Saints for the lesser of the top 4 spots and just hope the Specialist in Failure oversees his usual end of season melt down

    Feel free.

Gut feeling is that City will not progress. I think City will be on a high after whitewashing Newcastle but fact is, Newcastle were shyte, so it wasn't any sort of test. I could see them being 1 - 0 or 2 - 1 at best after the first leg and then all I can say is good luck at the camp Nou

In normal circumstances I'd rather go into the game off a 5-0 home win than a home defeat against Malaga (at the camp Nou  ), but the CL is a different kettle of fish. I'm not overly confident to be honest but Pellegrini's team selection will be critical? Yaya is suspended, which may be a blessing in disguise??

I'm just glad we're still in it, which given our performance in the group stage is something of a miracle :)
