  • @ DAG on a bike.

We are going to Palau-del-Vidre, Languedoc-Roussillon late August for a couple of weeks .
I've ordered an X-lite Team 3100 but with Zipp 60 wheels for my Felt AR frame and I'll put my C24's on the Rose.

Order date 6/7/2015 expected build 11/8/2015.

really hoping but kind of expect i won't have it in time for the holidays.
That region is one of my favourites. For the past 8 years or so I've holidayed in that region, either on my own or with a mate (the wives get left at home!), staying in or around Amelie les Bains, Ceret, Corbere. Last year we ventured further inland to a little place called Magalas, just north of Beziers. This year we're looking towards Provence but have no firm plans.

Languedoc-Roussillon as a region is a beautifully rustic area that offers just about everything a rider could wish for, with a varied mixed bag of riding. Add to that some very pleasant wines, what more could one wish for?

Fingers crossed for a timely delivery.

  • Now some images. Nothing special. Perhaps some 'arty' shots after I have become familiar with my new steed.

Quick glad to say I tried another quick ride after work (25miler) and no punctures this time! I let Rose know about the damage to tire from the first ride and have agreed to swap the tire which I'm very happy about.

Apologies from the saddle bag but I cant fit everything in my jersey pockets!!

How much fluid do you need for a 25miler?

You should ditch the saddle bag (and some fluid) and get a tool bottle

I know not everything agrees with Saddle bags but for me personally Id rather have one and make sure if/when something happens I can fix it and get home. 25miles is a very short ride for me but I always take two bottles, At 14st im no lightweight and Id rather know fluid is there if i need it.

Did a decent 100 miler at weekend after fitting some Michelin Pro4 Endurance tyres (28mm) and its a much nicer ride, The Pro4 usually run wider than stated but happy to report the 28 Pro4 Endurance fit fine :)

Thank you very much for the donation, the causes we are supporting are really all about the people that work in them and the effort they go to, just supporting others. 125 miles was a small price to pay!

    :)

Have fallen back in love with my ROSE PRO DX CROSS-3000 "MB" due to my normal commuting stead being sideline with a broken BB. Spent last Sunday setting it up again changed to 28" tires gave it a good clean. So have really enjoyed riding it. It was very close to being sold just after Xmas.

    Hello

I may hopefully get a quicker reply on here than Rose, Does anybody know how to use the Rose Points I have over 6000 but I cant find a way to redeem.
The site says "select the pay with points on the article" I cant see this on anything or anywhere?

Re the Rose points, when you go to the checkout page you get the option to use on your purchases. You can't use them against a purchase of higher value though you use them against anything costing less or equal to your points total, can't remember exactly what they are worth but I think it's 1 point for 0.01 euro. So you could use yours against something valued at £60 or less. Make sense?

It does yeah, it seem I had to add multiple items to basket and select which item I used the points on. Thanks very much :)

Dont suppose anyone else know of a cheap way to obtain a 135mm x 10mm thru axle rear wheel for use on my Xeon CDX on the Turbo trainer?

I've found some 29er wheels which would work but wouldnt support the use of a 11 speed casette

You could also use your points to buy a voucher for £60 and then redeem the voucher against a higher value item.

Don't think i've ever stuck pics of mine in here. Owned a Rose CRS3000 for around 18mths now and love it.

Super fast and pretty comfortable with 25mm tyres on it as well.

Do Rose put permanent frame numbers on their bikes, and if so where? I have a CDX3000 delivered May this year and all it has is one sticker under the bottom bracket that has fallen off after a couple of hundred miles, and another sticker(hardly permanent) at the top end of the down tube. The numbers weren't the same on both stickers.
This may be feature of carbon fibre bikes of course but this is the first one I've owned.

Been trying to get a Rose for some time now and it just isn't happening.
Ordered a Xeon CRS start of July and it came with a huge hole in the side of the box - opened it and there was a chip in the frame. Was told "if you cant see a crack (in your carbon frame) then it should be fine"...Returned at no cost to me and asked if they could send me a replacement - no interest so I had to order a second.
Second bike has just arrived and guess what? Hole in the side of the box again. When I go racing in Europe I wrap my bike for the conditions I expect it to be treated. These boxes arrive with a single piece of polystyrene over the dropouts/chainstays. How do they expect it to make it here in one piece?
Delivery driver didnt seem to be too pleased me rejecting the order on the doorstep, but I'm now over 4000 Euros out of pocket and the summer is nearly over. +1 to the "should buy local" brigade.
  • Quick question for the CGF owners.

Do you have inserts / frame protectors (rubber grommits) where the internal cabling enters the frame? I noticed last night that I don't have any and I wondered if this was normal?

    Thanks
    Scott.

I have the CDX model(CGF with discs basically) and that has nothing but drilled holes in the frame; they've been drilled after the frame has been sprayed and it looks a bit cheap really with unprotected carbon fibre showing...

  • I agree it doesn't look great, though to be fair I've had the bike for a couple of months and last night was the first time I'd noticed.

Wondering if there are any "aftermarket" inserts that can be applied?

    Scott.

I would be surprised as the holes on my frame are only just big enough for the cables/hoses.

Does anyone know if mudguards can be fitted to the CDX disc ?

I think this would make a superb winter/wet day bike if that's possible:

How many miles have people managed to get on their Rose so far this year?

I've just done 1000, and it's not missed a beat. Very pleased with it! :)
  • Just under 600.

    Very pleased.

Speed is up by 2-3kph, on average and cadence up from 80 to 90.

Had a bike fit a week after it arrived. The only change was from 350mm seatpost to 400mm.

Can't wait to take it over to France next month for 2 weeks for some 'interesting' rides.
