Just wanted to ask before purchasing my second (and probably third) Torm jerseys, but do the short sleeve jerseys now come with the larger pockets?
Also, I'm quite a buff cyclist and have an XXL in the T11 (43in chest), but should I get the XL in the long zip as recommended? And why is there is difference in what size to get between the long zip and short zips?
Thanks for your support, the short zip jerseys do come up a little tighter and have less stretch due to the horizontal stripes so I think the XL in the long zipped jerseys would be a good fit.
The sizing is a historical difference in the fit of the different jersey types, originally we saw the short zip as very much a summer style jersey to be worn on its own and with a close fit, so when the the long zip was designed we made it a bit bigger to allow for the use of base layers underneath in colder conditions.
I have thought about altering the labels to make the fit the same for each size independent of the jersey type but now so many people know the sizing that changing it would cause a lot of problems for current customers.
    Does that help ?

My fault - I'm being really fussy. I'd ignored over half the lineup because I always go for full-length zips. Yes, I know you get a better fit with the short zip; it's just that sometimes, after a hard ride, I lack the energy to get a jersey off by dragging it over my head!

The Swedish T7 looks fantastic, by the way. But then, I like the white jerseys. Whatever problem they might be perceived as having in the rain doesn't exist for me, because I'll always be the first one in the group who stops to pull on a rain jacket.

There's a small local club that has the T7 in black with yellow stripes for their strip; I know because I saw them on a coffee stop a couple of weeks ago. I wish more clubs would choose *quality* jersey suppliers for their kit - if the choice is between wearing club kit and my Torm jerseys, Torm takes it every time.
Thanks for your kind words, I prefer the short zip look myself so put up with the effort of taking it off after a long ride.

I have a few clubs/groups who wear my jerseys and I also regularly embroider logos on jerseys for club/team events for customers, there's a few team shots on my site in the testimonials area showing examples of the embroidery I have done. http://torm.cc/testimonials.html

Ordered a T7 in Black. Really lovely jersey. Pleased I went with the medium as I prefer them to be a bit more of a race fit. Think I'll be getting a long sleeved one when Autumn comes round. Would also love the white T7!

Hey Torm, I'm still really loving my Black and Yellow T1 jersey I bought a year a go. It earned me the nickname "the wasp" because I wear it so often combined with my stingey attacks  .

Anyway, I was wondering if you have ever considered it in block colour combinations, i.e., having the entire sleeves in a different colour, I think it might look really nice with most of the colour combinations you already carry.

Anyway, cheers and thanks for the great products!

Thanks for the quick response, that makes sense, thanks :D Now the agonising question of what colour to get. Also, have the pockets for the full zip short sleeve jerseys been increased in line with the long sleeve jerseys, or do they still come up a little smaller? My only issue with my T11 is the pockets are a little small to fit my phone.

I did that one a few years ago, it was the T4 but it wasn't as successful as I hope so I replaced it with the T7 which sells really well.

Currently only some of the latest the long sleeve jerseys have the larger pockets but later in the year when the stock needs renewing the short sleeve jerseys will have the larger pockets.

What is the sizing like on the men's short zip & short sleeve jerseys? I'm a 38" chest and 12 and a bit stone. Close fitting would be nice, but I'd not be after a totally skin tight fit.

I'm right at the crossover of M/L, so if they come up tight, I'll go L. If not I wonder if M is the way to go...?
Men's short zip short zip jerseys are about 20" from arm pit to arm pit when they are lying on the ground, the medium is closer to 19". How does that compare to your current jerseys? I'm 5'11 and 12 stone with a 39" chest and 33" waist and the large is a good fit, with or without a base layer...I look a bit scary on the medium!

    I think I'll be a large. I have a large Prendas/Santini Jersey which measures about 20" armpit to armpit. I'm a fairly similar build - 5'9", 12 and a bit stone, 38 chest and 33/34 waist.

Thanks for the help - birthday present order shortly to be incoming, please don't sell out of large T2 jerseys in red...!
I've got good stock of that jersey right now but I'll put one aside for you just in case.

    Amazing, thank you :)
    ...that's getting shipped today !

Thanks, I might hold off till the new jerseys come in with the new pocket configuration and use my T11 till it falls apart (could be a long while till that happens :D )

My T2 arrived this week well in time for my birthday, it's a lovely Jersey and is a good fit - a medium would have been pretty skin tight, so thank you for the advice earlier in the thread.

Thank you also for the extra little birthday touch to my order, really made my day :)

Anyone who owns a torm jersey - what are they like in hot temperatures?

Depends what you mean by hot - perfectly weareable but if it's much above 20 I move to a thin synthetic (synthetic because that's what I have). I do find my Torm is good at stopping me getting cold, which is usually a good thing! Ditching the base layer would make it fine up to the mid-low 20s for me, personally. But cycling in Spain last week when it got properly hot (up to 31, usually mid 20s) I much preferred a thinner jersey. But then living in Scotland anything much above 20 is a bit of a shock...

I've ridden in mid twenties up some climbs in France wearing a Torm and don't think it was any less comfortable than a synthetic. If is 26 degrees and your working hard you are going to sweat profusely no matter what you wear. When I stopped the Torm jersey wasn't soaking and heavy so was wicking reasonable well. It was quite damp but I was still sweating and sitting in direct sunlight. If I had a cotton t-shirt on it would have been sodden and heavy.

I'm headed to Tenerife in September and plan to take my Torm jerseys.

I didn't really mean synthetic vs. sportwool, just the weight of the jersey - the Torm one is a heavier weight material than some of the others I own, and I found the lighter weight material more comfortable in hotter temperatures. The fact the lighter jersey I was using happens to be synthetic is neither here nor there, really.

One of the best ways for sizing is to compare my jerseys to your current jerseys.

Here are the approximate measurements of my jerseys :

The short zipped jerseys (T1, T2, T11, T12) have the following approximate arm pit to arm pit measurements when lying flat on the ground.

    XS - 17"
    Small - 18"
    Medium - 19"
    Large - 20"
    XL - 21"
    XXL - 22"

The long zipped jerseys (T3, T5, T7, T8) have the following approximate arm pit to arm pit measurements when lying flat on the ground.

    XS - 18"
    Small - 19"
    Medium - 20"
    Large - 21"
    XL - 22"
    XXL - 23"

    Hope this helps

The weight of my jerseys is 165 grams per metre if that helps with the comparison.
I guess everyone has their own thermostat and we're all a little different but generally the jerseys work well at both ends of the spectrum. In saying that however if you do run hot then a polyester jersey may allow you to be slightly cooler....it will also keep you damper that a SportWool jersey.
I run cold (soft southerner!) so I'm still in a jersey and base layer until the temperature is in the 20's when I might risk it without a base layer!

My experience is that in medium, short zip is like a tight race fit, long zip is a bit more relaxed but still no flappy material to annoy. I can comfortably wear a base layer with both. No sizing up needed unless you want them loose. No idea if that's helpful!

At the risk of being accused of hijacking the thread, you know those kind of ingrained mud spots you sometimes see on the white stripes of the jersey? Is there a trick/product that'll remove them without destroying the jersey?

Nothing instant that would leave the jersey intact although they certainly disappear through time with a bit of neat detergent added to the area before each wash.

just realized that Torm have narrow middle pockets.

what is the width of the middle pocket?

    considering a Torm T7. 40" chest, like a slim fit - guessing a large?
  • Bums. I'm down one of my beautiful T3 jerseys. Cut from me (along with an expensive Gore Active Shell, gloves, bib shorts, knee protectors and dignity) in the Ambulance during this Sunday's audax.

On the bright side, I now have a titanium nail through the my femur to match my bike frame. Which I'm not allowed on until AT LEAST 2016, says the orthopod

Hope all goes as well as it can, as fast as it can :)

In a large they are about 110mm, this is v similar in size to other well known SportWool manufacturers although mine are a bit deeper. This also means the outer cargo pockets are larger.

    Does that help ?
