TDF Stage 13: St Etiennie - Chamrousse *spoiler*

"I'd say three or four riders can fight for the top placing. Right now, I’m thinking half about getting on the podium, but I’m also thinking about finishing higher up. I’ve got good legs, the team’s good," Valverde said as the Alps loomed large on the horizon.
"There are five or six riders who can battle for the podium, but I can’t just sit tight and accept finishing third in Paris. I’m in a good place, but I can’t just settle for that, I’ve got to fight for a better placing. I don’t know if I’m Nibali’s number one rival, there are a lot of good riders up there, like Porte too."Contador is the Greatest0 -
Arthur Vichot (FDJ) abandons

Rode up Chamrousse with #OlympicBloke . I attacked at 4k. He countered at 3.9k. And that was that.

Oh no! I guess all the forum attention on Cheng recently has left him feeling unloved...
I heard he was ill before the start so not unsuprising...0 -

Not just today but a long running theme.0 -

You can dope if you're sorry
You can dope if you ride with panache.
But you can't be a wheelsucking unrepentant doper.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -

There's nothing good to say about him,
Drug cheat

No doubting he is a cheat, but without going down that tangent yet again, he isn't on his own there.
I have no love for him, he's never a spectacular rider who lights up a race, but sometiomes think the vitriol directed towards him is a bit OTT.0 -

+1
I admired him coming back after getting dropped in the mountains last year time and time again. Even though he was many minutes down.0 -

Sad times. I like that chap a lot and he is a silent placer in the GC. Shame.

Has Carlton mentioned melting tarmac yet - I caught the highlights last night and he mentioned it 4 times within the opening 5 minutes, drove me nuts.0
