Would be great if Yates won this but I suspect it may be a Cancellara v Sagan v Valverde battle.

I wouldn't be against Fabian or Sagan taking the stage today. Or even young Yates.

If the Tour makers volunteered hoping to get a load of nice Adidas kit like the Games makers did they will be sorely disappointed! Crowds building now, closed roads have more traffic than they would on a normal Sunday!!

That would be brilliant or maybe allowed a break to mop up the KOM jersey

Was that an impostor at the back of the peloton? There are a few rain jackets but he had plain red shorts and I couldn't see a number on his frame.
I'm left handed, if that matters.

Pretty uninspiring six out front...was hoping they would be caught but looks like the peloton are taking a nature break.

Peleton having a natural break so looks like the breakaway might stick for a while

Why would they be caught? They've got all the usual suspects in the break, who would bother chasing?

It would be nice if the stages they showed in their entirety actually had some proper racing at the start. These two days have been a wash.

You're only going to see that in mountain stages.

I don't even bother turning the telly on til about 14:30 or so.

Yeah I suppose. I have stopped watching it and will flick it back on now and again to catch some of these fabled ridiculously steep climbs.

The Tour is over too quickly. I want to absorb every second, every possible bit of information; it has to keep me going until next year! ;)

Cheers. There's no 'possibly' about Lemond on Tour being the worst thing. It is. He says he's going to go and ride the last 40k or so of the stage. Good luck Greg, 30% remember, hope you've got a granny gear. Then the other one (who's name I don't remember) said he'd make him some nice pasta to recover. Greg does not need anymore pasta.

Poor Eurosport though (think???) they had such a coup getting Lemond too. Maybe he'll grow into it.

Why has Liggett decided that he knows Michael Rogers was innocent?

Same way he knew USADA were bribing people to frame Armstrong. The voices.

You would think that he of all people would learn to just say "he's riding again and that's his right, we'll give him the benefit of the doubt" instead of using words like "vindicated".

No news from the roadside today - we caught the Tour within the neutralised section. 'Everyone looked happy' is about the sum of the information I can offer.

Cote de Blubberhouses is even more beautiful than Cote de Buttertubs. What a triumph of language this is turning out to be

    From Wikipedia:

Several suggestions have been made for the origins of the name Blubberhouses:-

-From the blueberry: Ely Hargrove's History of Knaresborough.
-From the Blue Boar, a former inn.
-Early spellings include "Bluburgh", "Bluborrow", "Bluburhouse", (1172) "Bluberhusum". These may come from:-
    Anglo-Saxon burh = "fort".[3]
    -From "Blueberg" = "blue mountain".[4]
-Anglo-Saxon bluberhūs = "the house(s) which is/are at the bubbling stream",[5] with a later regularised plural; the -um form came from the Anglo-Saxon dative plural case æt bluberhūsum = "at the houses which ...".
