Great stage, pity those time splits were completely bollx by the look of it.

I hope somebody is on suicide watch for FF. What an epic stage. Sky don't let stuff like that go down when they are in front.

Absolutely brilliant Dauphine. Great duel on the Col de Beal and yesterday between Froome and Contador. Kelderman and Yates showing a bright future. Crazy final stage.

Magnificent for Talansky. Great solo effort from Contador, but he'd have won it if he'd gone with Nibali. Wonder if others in the Tour (e.g. Valverde, JRod) will be looking to take advantage of Froome/Contador p!ssing match for overall GC win?

I had one of them red bikes but I don't any more. Sad face.

How the hell did Talansky get in a break?

OK I just got in a switched on to see the final few hundred metres. Looks like I've missed a cracker, what the hell happened?

Well done Talansky and Nieve. Yates up there again. Talansky looks to be turning into a real GC contender now. Presumably Froome is feeling the effects of injury hence Nieve being allowed to ride for the stage?

You missed the end of a cracking stage. It would definitely be a 3 out of 10 on the Iainometer.

Considering Nieve, Porte and Lopez were in that break too, it could well have been a grand Froome attack plan he tagged on to.

I think Iain may even have bumped it up to four or fivee:
Yay Talansky. Congrats to all the riders for producing ace race

This is why I wish they'd show more of the stage. The first kms are always so fascinating.

Not a consolation at all for Froome but he keeps the points jersey.

Yep - would love to see what the other Tinkoff riders do during the early part of the stages.

Nieve said that Froome was suffering and not 100% at the finish today.

As an aside Nieve was the most approachable of the sky riders at the stage start at Grenoble, taking the time to speak to my son.

He said it was too soon for him. Vuelta maybe.

Fair Play to Andrew Talansky! Nice words in the interview too. Please for him and for Garmin

A week ago lots of people saying that Froome was on fire but the team looked weak. Well a week on, there's good and bad news.....

Froome and Contador basically stuff each other up.
Clearly, his crash impacted the race, more than first thought.
Bertie is ridiculously strong, though. Had he launched when they started to muck about.....
Bluff and counter bluff, backfires, Talansky, VDB and young Yates benefit.

    Overall, a super Dauphine.

I think that is a fine conclusion adding in that the Sky team are not looking as shabby as previously thought.

Mmm. Isn't the Vuelta even more brutal this year? Admittedly it's less predictable, but I'm not sure it'll be significantly easier, assuming they're worried about burning him out.

Good to see Talansky acknowledging Ryder's hard work. Hoping Nibali will be a bit more prominent in the tour, if not it look like the Froome/Contador opera looks like it could be an epic...can't wait!

Vuelta is a heck of a lot less stressful. He must be due a month off the bike soon too.

Not sure where to start with the congratulations...unbelievable stage.
Very happy for Talansky and Garmin but I was so hoping Contador could take it...he has never won the Dauphine. Huge effort from him in the end - I wonder if he played it differently and hadnt stayed with Froome he may have won...however he may also have blown earlier. Wilco as well...crazy good.
Very happy for Nieve. I have a lot of time for him. His Giro win in 11 is my second favourite win of all time. Today's one is close.
Shame Froome cracked big time especially when his team did so well today. These things happen though. Its not over until its over.

Fortune favours the brave. What a move by Talansky. This stage goes into history. Fans have had an abundance of excitement today. Joy.

Good to hear. Sky are very lucky to have him. Home grown Basque rider who knows about cycling history and has not been brought to where he is by a corporate organisation.
