Froome paying for Stage 2 effort? The Mutant who fell to earth? Just the crash? We'll never know.

    Come on Talansky.

Surprised so many were dismissive of the effects of the fall yesterday. Struggled to follow Sky wheels a few times.

Looking like he'll be top British finisher. :D

How many times have we seen Contador do this over the years? It's such a pleasure to see someone, whatever the sport, willing to take the risks of looking like a idiot and blowing up, rather than just sitting up.

I admire Froome enormously, but I'd watch Contador paint a wall, just in case he did something extraordinary...

Just in the last 30 seconds or so is the first time in a long time the gap has actually gone out a few seconds. Turning point?

Although I should say they are still descending...

Talansky 39 seconds before the stage. Contador 1.11 down now - surely he will make 30 odd seconds up on the last climb? Time bonusses could still be important.

NA dude actually taking a turn for Bertie, gap rock solid at 70 seconds with only 7km to go. I think he is going to catch them or get close enough to hold on to GC.

Contador descending slowly or are these other riders benefitting from the cars and bikes around Contador.

I think Contador can save his jersey but whether he can actually bridge across to Talanksy, VdB etc. is touch and go.

Nibali the main gainer on the descent.

Nibali is still 40 secs ahead of Contador according to the latest time check! Maybe Contador is starting to tire.

Don't forget Keldermann is with him!

Talansky looks pretty good up front. He's driving the group along.

If Nibali and Kelderman reach the front group then presumably they'll give Talansky a few turns.

    Kelderman and Nibali almost there!

Not many stages where you let 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th on GC break away.

Gap below a minute. I think Contandor is going to do it.

Blinking heck. Just got in from a bike ride and the race is all over the place.
This blows the Tour right open and puts Nibali back in the mix, not to mention a few others by the looks of things.
    Great to see some racing.

Bonus seconds could be interesting here... :-)

Both Talansky and Contador have done huge amounts of work

I presume the time gap is to Nieve, so Contador is still gaining on Talansky

Presumably that's the gap to Nieve?
