It takes just one pen on that road and it will all look very ugly.
About 1:47 does someone flip out on the corner.0 -
Once on bike cameras get commonplace highlights packages will get much better as you can imagine seeing a sprint from a riders point of view, then cutting back to a wide shot etc. Even seeing the crowds on the climbs.
Some F1 style data would be good too, how much power are they putting out, what gear are they in, heartrate, etc
The teams don't want to give out this data - tough, the sport doesn't exist for the teams.0 -
Heartrate data?
Let's not make cycling even more predictable than it already has become by knowing the exact condition of the riders as well.0 -
Anyone heard if cameras are going to be fitted for tdf?0

Here's another fantastic one from Stage 5 of the Tour de Suisse:

Just insane, and my non-cycling mates say the same thing when I show it to them. I understand the challenges of providing this stuff in real-time, but the sooner it gets incorporated into highlights packages, the better.
I geeked out and lined up this footage side-by-side with the helicopter shots. You wouldn't think it was the same race. For example, check out the Lampre shoulder check at 30 seconds. You can barely pick up on it on the 'copter shot.0 -
Let's be honest here.
That's absolutely incredible footage.0 -

My nerves are shot to pieces just watching that. Christ.Red bikes are the fastest.0 -

Looks like somebody else did too and decided to share it:

 Amazing...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

I wonder if this sort of footage will lead to more fines and penalties. Or maybe Degenkolb-like levels of aggression/determination are normal.0

Really really good stuff from these cameras! Are they going to be used in the Tour?0

It also depends who owns the footage. If it's the UCI I could see there being an agreement not to use it in this way.0 -
My appreciation for bunch positioning "a la Cav" has just gone up a few notches.0

The video has been taken down for breach of copyright. Can anyone give a description for those of us too slow to view it?0

Have a look at Steve Tilford's blog for 20 June "pushing and headbutting in races" stevetilford.com where the clip still seems to be up. Tilford is not a fan of shouting and physical contact in races or how these "tactics" are copied in lower categories (there's a clip of a US cat 5 race which is shocking).0

Nice stuff.
Let's hope we get some Le Tour footage.
My footage is a bit more dull, but great for on the turbo

Near the end the OGE rider with the camera gets taken down by an Astana rider who totally misjudges a hairpin on a descent.0
