Terrible coverage of the event, but it doesn't look like.

BMC lost Kohler and Lander (who lost 2.42), NetApp lost Thwaites and SKY lost Boswell.

Did MOV lose anyone? Bit surprised they didnt do better, considering they had Dowsett and Malori
It was quite a short TTT - only 14km. Long TT specialists like Malori & Dowsett aren't especially useful. On average riders are only doing 2km each on the front in short bursts.

And Wiggins is going well. I imagine he was the SKY powerhouse.

How does every other WT team manage to field 8 riders?

bacause they don't have 3 riders sidlined for different reasons, 3 riders sidlined with injury and 1 rider retired. You're a fool.

Kohler was only dropped near the end.

I heard, for BMC, nearly all the work was done by Evans, Kohler, Morabito and Zabel, but that they let Oss cross the line first because he’s a local lad, born in Trento.

    27.5km to go in today's stage, 3 riders have a 4'15" lead

Dugue (Team Colombia) Honkisz (CCC Polsat) and Cecchinel (Nero Sottoli)

Been out in front since early doors

9km to go, they're on the final climb, around 70 riders left in the peloton (race leader Oss dropped)

Caruso, Pirazzi, Zardani, Van Rensburg and Landa have just attacked

That's a bit too many riders left in contention at this stage. I hope a GC rider shows something. 15km climb this one.

around 3km to go, Zardini* now solo with 23" on Landa and 36" on the peloton

EDIT: Zardini now with 40" on the peloton, who've caught Landa

Basso dropped, so is Wiggins (who did a lot of work according to @CyclingUpdates)

Aru, Cuddles, Pozzovivo and Duarte are chasing Zardini

They'd better be careful - he started the day not that far down

Go my man Aru, nice to see Evans ticking along. Basso - lightweight if he doesnt finish within reasonable time as these guys.

Heck of a win by Zardini. He was one of those highly touted Italian juniors with the likes of Aru and Formolo. Haven't heard his name in a couple of years though.

We'll see - He sat up with Wiggins. He's usually not that great at Trentino / Romandie.

    Basso 1'49 down Frenchie.

More interesting, Wiggins better than Cataldo.

Would love to see Basso get another Giro stage win before he calls it a day ... It will take a breakaway and a go-slow amongst the favourites to make it happen though ...

Thanks. I am hoping he sat up for some reason rather than not being able to hang with those riders (who are not the best in the World lets be honest). Surprising given he has strong Mt Tiede miles, however possibly legs are a little dulled and he will be fine with race pace in a couple of days. He said his numbers were up there with his 2010 numbers.

Will have to find out what happened to Cataldo - if a classics rider is doing better than him I am not sure what his chances are in the Giro overall. Strongly suspect we will see no Sky rider in the top ten but hopefully lots of stage hunters - will make a nice and interesting change.

Wiggins treating this as a training block ahead of ToC. Cataldo's just come down from altitude training up on Teide (same with Suitsou) - takes riders a while to adjust. Dan Martin claimed this re himself at AGR last Sun, and then he went like a rocket today.

Ahh, ok. For some reason I had it in my head they were riding for Cataldo.

Bardiani should be good value at the Giro. Hopefully Pirazzi will repeat last year's performance.
