He's been on there for ages. It was just twitter he dropped in 2012 after wife-gate.

    Rohan Dennis:

It is a matter of: will he break 53 kilometres; and if he does, by how much? I don't think he is going to get 54 or 55. People throw stupid numbers like that out there because they believe … Correct me if I am wrong once he has done it, but I have huge doubts he is going to crack 54 or 55. "That's sort of super human stuff. The numbers [for Dennis] were as good as what I thought. But I don't think physically you can do a whole lot more in the sense that if you want to do the 54 or 55 it's going to [require] pretty stupid numbers for an hour. And no amount of track experience or maturity, I don't think, can do it in this position.

In the 2015 Worlds Wiggo put 57s into Dennis in a 56min ITT. 57s on the track amounts to more than 3 laps - which puts Wiggo into the late 53k zone if we take some bad science and ignore any other factors.

Of course the hour is different to a road ITT and the demands are different but if anything I'd put those other demands in Wiggos favour rather than Dennis. Personally I think Wiggo will hit 54+ but not sure by how much. 55 seems crazy and Boardman's 56 is miles away from anyone in a modern position.

Anyone got a pic which confirms Romingers position and bike for is 53+ and 55+ efforts? I've had a google but not sure if the pics I'm seeing are actually from his hour attempt.

    This one from Dowsett:

Fit again, the Essex rider has been training at world-record pace - "it's not comfortable but it's manageable" - and is adamant the spectre of Wiggins' attempt five weeks later will not affect him on Saturday.

"It's not going to make a blind bit of difference," Dowsett says. "Somebody told me that he put up on his Instagram account that he was doing 20-minute blocks at 55kmh. If he's doing that then he is just going to blow whatever any of us do out of the water."

I'll have a watch of that while I have me lunch, then. I need ddraver's input on what wine/cured meats is appropriate

Eurosport's graphics went tits up after two minutes so we have no idea how he's going. Idiots. The one thing you had to get right.

I'm here watching it - VIP, track centre wot wot

Currently bang on schedule - couple of seconds down. Interview earlier said that he wasn't going to do a Bobridge, looking for negative split and to ramp up in the second half

Seems to be about 3 seconds behind at 10km.

Having trouble working out what the graphics actually show, when they show them....

Is it me or are they going out of their way not to mention Obree? They didn't mention him in the list of British hour record attempts or in the little history section either. Some beef between him and Doyle?

The top left graphic, with lap and speed - is it lap speed, or overall speed so far?

Looks very comfortable - position dialled in, little or no movement on the saddle. If he's 5 seconds down at 30 minutes, I think he'll do it. His laps looks very consistent - much more than Bobridge

Possibly. Just the sort of thing these guys would do to an unusual and non-conformist like Obree.

    Hmmmmm.

Starting to slow quite a bit now. Lost 2 seconds in the last 8 minutes.

Hope he hasn't given himself too much to do in the second half

Think that's more a reflection on how Dennis rode, Alex seems to be fairly consistent, gradually pushing up the average speed.
