Yeah you're probably right. I imagine they'll be playing with chainline a bit so you don't lose out on the drivetrain efficiency.0

I hadn't realised Bobridge had downgraded to some random Conti team sponsored by forklifts! He needs to be the hungriest who has had a dig at it yet to get his name about to help him back up the ladder.0
-
He's focussing on the Rio Olympics. 4 or 5 others of the Australian endurance team are riding for Budget in 2015. Don't think he'll be thinking of climbing up...0

So we have the official "perfect hour" song...which is bad even for Europop!

FWIW
British Eurosport have announced that they will broadcast Alex Dowsett’s attempt at the UCI Hour Record on 27 February at the Lee Valley (Olympic) VeloPark.0 -
And Dame Sarah Storey?0

Dowsett broke his collarbone in a training crash yesterday;

No decision yet on what happens to his hour record attempt at the end of next month.0 -
Ooof, bad luck.
I can't see he'd get the volume of training required with a broken collarbone to do it in 6 weeks.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
It depends how bad a break it is and whether they can pin it or not.
But I'd be surprised if the attempt goes ahead as currently scheduled.0 -

Some reports it's cancelled now.
It's all just a holding pattern until Wiggins sets a mark that will last for a while.
I'd kind of like for Froome to give it a whirl out of nowhere, set a decent mark while offending everyone how he looks on the bike. And then stand at the trackside during Wiggins attempt doing that "hurry up" hand sign.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -
Bad luck. Another crash in training. Craddock and Geschke collided with a police car yesterday.
I guess no one knows until they see how he recovers.
Official line from the team is that it still goes ahead.Contador is the Greatest0 -

Can't imagine that riding in the TT position for an hour would be helped by a healing collar bone.“New York has the haircuts, London has the trousers, but Belfast has the reason!0 -
Dowsett was out training with Cav yesterday according to his Twitter - wonder if they both came down ?
I know they recover from collarbones quickly these days - but I think it was Dr Hutch that was talking about the relentless G forces - every time you go into a bend on the track. Not pleasant even if you're fully recovered.
Hope he can get back on track anyway.0 -
Shame for him if not. Means despite all the second tier testers that have done it thus far, a quality rider like Alex won't likely get his name on the record as Wiggins will pile in and smash it to bits.Blog on my first and now second season of proper riding/racing - www.firstseasonracing.com0

when Jo Rowsell broke her collarbone, she was back competing on the track in around 4 weeks, and was able to do watt bike training after 2 weeks to maintain fitness at least..
so its still potentially achievable, thoughthe final round of Revolution isnt till the 14th of March so they could just delay their attempt, albeit Manchester isnt the Olympic velodrome obviously.
I guess alot will depend on how the post surgery recovery goes0 -
-
He's had some bad luck in the past so hopefully he'll have some good luck this time and it will heal quickly. He can definitely do it as long as it goes well.0
-
Either way he won't be top for that date.
Someone of the big 3 (2?) should go and put it out of reach for a while and put a lot of people out of their misery.0 -
The only problem with that is we get another ten years of no-one trying it then.0
-
And I would say big two rather than 3 definitely, I like Martin but I can't see his style translating to the track. Wiggins has got to be the one surely but I would like to see Fabu have a crack at it (I would have loved to see him try it on the Merckx style bike)0
