It is, it gets ridden for cross though with narrower tyres so it counts0 -

It's the West Highland Way just outside Mugdock so not really muddy up to this point, the mud starts a little while afterwards at Glengoyne.0 -

It's a great place to ride, especially with all the small, technical MTB trails in Mugdock.
I get that feeling every time I pedal out of Glasgow. We're spoiled up here for good places to ride.0 -

Did a bit of the Highland way out of Fort William, going south on the west side of Ben Nevis... lovely gravel climb, before it turns into an unrideable path... annoyingly... :?left the forum March 20230 -

I've been told the only unrideable bit is alongside Loch Lomond as you skirt Ben Lomond, the rest is meant to be rideabe (on an MTB).
This bit?

Yeah, I got to the top of the climb, only to find out the way markers pointed towards a tiny rocky path... whereas the wide gravel road starts descending but goes nowhere, basically. It didn't match the map description at allleft the forum March 20230

My Kinesis just after a post-race hose down (apologies for the instagram filter!)
Nothing overly special, currently mismatched wheels (Iron Cross front, Cosine Rear) and a chain that's a few links too long but it's a fun bike and pretty light as it stands (about 7.5kg-ish - maybe a bit more with those pedals). Currently using a 38x18 gear which is a good match for racing and also little blasts up the Ridgeway trails.
Not completely sold on the Hutchinson Toro tires but they are cheap enough and setup tubless easily on both the Iron Cross and Cosine wheels.

My Velocite Cross Bike. (The handlebar is still being adjusted)

My sons Specialized Crux Pro 49cm (XS). I'll try and get a better picture when he stops riding it!
Currently being tweaked with narrow handlebars (some 36cm instead of the 42cm fitted) and short cranks.
Has a set of the new Islabike Greim Pro CX tyres fitted which seem really good. Just like Baby Limus but cheaper...

I have the same bike as above, but with a few upgrades. I had a Specialized Crux Expert Red Disc from 2014, that I made changes too before, but felt that this season required a new bike.
Specialized Crux Elite X1
Upgrades:
- Specialized S-Works Power Saddle
- SRAM Carbon cranks
- Stages SRAM Carbon BB30 power meter
- Shimano XTR Pedals
- Zipp 30 Course Tubular Disc Brake wheelset
- Dugast Typhoon 33 mm tubular tyres
I also have K-Edge mounts for my GoPro Sessions front and rear, as well as my Garmin.

I bet that weighs closer to 7kg. Great stuff0 -
First CX bike: Planet X XLS in very fetching Flanders colour scheme. Only had it a few days but really enjoying it. Seems quick on the road even with 34mm slightly knobbly tyres, and I tried it out on the gravel mountain bike routes near the Olympic stadium yesterday. Handled it pretty well, though drops are not the tools for this job, but it was great fun anyway.
Probably not looking to do any CX races anytime soon, but good trails or off road CX suitable sections in and around London recommendations would be appreciated0 -
