Pretty weak German squad which brings to the fore their lack of breadth in type of riders.

    Kilometres of fun being added...
  • Is everyone else getting an infuriating radio beep noise in the background?
  • Fra Spa Ita and Bel well represented. GB riders should hang their heads in shame.

Yeah. It sounds like a dial-up modem.

Yes, it sounds as if they are having problems with their dial-up connection.

Still 5 laps to go

Why? Apart from Cavendish, they haven't got any riders who actually ever won a one-day race

Yep, I think it's the chopper radio.

I think he was off the back quite soon after they entered the finishing circuit. I think he's actually caught and passed Froome, possibly with Froome saying he didn't fancy it/have the legs on his way past.

Did he go through the check at the start of this lap? He was in a group behind Froome for a while so i dont think he dropped back to help him.

Talking of Lightweights i see the "next best thing" Phinney has abandoned.
  • Thanks guys re G.

NED with 5 guys. Colombians still well represented and it is not like they are used to these conditions - I guess they have hearts and desire tho.

  • As I've stated before, this is a ridiculous race as it's so stacked in favour of a handful of nations who have teams of 9 against others with only 1 or 2 riders....

TJVG was in the big crash, and the Lightweight had to wait to try and pace him back on. Like a teammate is supposed to do.
