Whats the total elevation of the course tomorrow?
inrng preview says 3600m for the whole course; 600m on the first part, then 300m for each lap of the circuit.

    Cheers for the link
  • Some questions

1----Can Dan Martin count on any help from other Garmin riders or the rest?
2----If you were GB DS what would your game plan be? Work for EBH?
    3----When will Cancellara attack?

British (non specialist) press seem to think Froome is a contender.
He's never won anything on this sort of course, and has no chance, surely? No idea about his current form, but I'd have thought G was a better (but still unlikely) prospect.

    1. I doubt it. Navardauskas may help but the rest there ride for bigger nations
    2. They will work 100% for Froome. And the best way to do that is to make it as hard as possible in the last five laps. Riders on small nations sometimes work for those on big nations, but not vice versa. At least Sky lend Norway a bus.
    3. About 12km from the end.

I don't think Thomas has much form. He's only done four days racing since being injured at the Tour.

FF - those are very nice pics.
Is there some tiny bit of you that thinks that thinks that Liz might be quite a good bike rider?
  • Of course she is a good bike rider and an aggressive one too. She is good looking also. She came up short today though.

What I would do - wing it. Try to get riders in breaks. Never ride on the front. Force other teams to chase.

What I expect - team GB on the front until 40 kms to go. Then no GB rider to be seen again. Cancellera, Sagan and Co will be grateful for the tow and chasing back the breakaways.
  • His win from the Junior Worlds last year. Class.

Frenchie. Looking at your current avatar, would I be right in thinking you're firmly behind Cancellara tomorrow? Taking away national bias, I'd like to see him or Nibali win. (or a Colombian seeing as I tipped them at the beginning of the season)

Was going to say the same as Rich. Glad to see that avatar Frenchie. Will certainly be rooting for Cancellara.

I get so excited when he's in form for a one dayer. Like a kid before Christmas. I probably need to grow up a bit.

Very excited for tomorrow. Fingers crossed it's a good one.

Heart is with Cancellara tomorrow - I think he deserves one and he really wants it more than anything. After him I will be cheering for Quintana and Nibali as well as Contador although a bit too early for Quintana to be holding it maybe despite the fact it will look very cool on his shoulders and he will certainly show it off proudly.

Same. The guy is dynamite, pure racer and a fan's dream.

I think it's going to be a cracker tomorrow. Anyone who gets it is going to be very worthy.

I wouldnt say no chance; the worlds are a strange race. Indurain didnt have much pedigree in the classics but got on the worlds podium three times. All Froome needs is a climbers course and he is in contention. I dont think this is enough of a climbers course fir him to win, but he's still GB's best bet

Its a good course so there can be no excuses. Anyone who wins here is most deserving of the jersey. I have no idea who will win, its wide open, but its a shame JTL is such a wus this year, Its a course made for his form of last year.

I think you need to look at the JTL thread....
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Contador is a racer for the rain as are many others I admire.

Sciandri saying it doesn't often rain all day there but more like showers and thunder but any rain will make the course mich harder. He says Pozzato will suffer in the rain and he doesn't think he has form anyway. He is saying about Fabu that the peloton is saying he is lean and mean right now and will be very hard to beat.

I just hope Fabu doesn't crash on a corner from overcooking it.
