That means Cancellara made 5 seconds per km on Martin between checkpoints

Eurosport need to kick someone. Why show highlights of stage 10 when stage 11 is on with the 2 best TTers starting early. Madness.

That's Vuelta for you. Unipublic doesn't want us to see how rubbish their stages are until the final 10km so they start their transmissions of the stages at 16CET. Nothing to do with Eurosport.

Is it a rights / cost thing? Otherwise, as you say, absolute madness.

Geek question: Has anyone done the TT/RR double?

Woke up this morning with a feeling that Cancellara would be strong... glad my PTP pick paid off, though there's plenty more riders to come...

Wonder whether Martin's incredible effort the other day had an effect, or whether Cancellara is just tip-top
  • There must be something in the Radioshack water bottles this Vuelta  :D

Yes I said it, but I always prefer Martin over Luigi

Fabian has also been working pretty hard for Horner so he can't be that fresh, but yes seems he is hitting form just in time...

Yeah but on the flip side Cancellara's being climbing like a beast the last few days for Horner. And Martin's effort was 6 days ago...
  • Oooooh - looking v interesting for WC...

The previews I read all seemed to suggest that Spartacus would be too tired after all the Super-Dom work for Horner...

Radioshack are on form at the moment. Sans Schleck they seem to be gelling nicely...

Fabian made what.. 1:30 on Martin on that climb... Not that surprising that Fabian got the better of him there.

No. The nearest anyone has come was Indurain and Olano in 1995 who were 1-2 in both races, but Olano won the RR and Indurain the TT.

Longo did it in the women's races and Petrov in the u23s

Apparently there might be issues at the first checkpoint. Could be that Fabian wasn't that far behind on it after all.
  • Cataldo 3rd place - decent result
  • Coppel closer to Martin than Martin is to Cancellara at the 2nd checkpoint. Good going
  • Well, its clear what at least some of the pros are thinking

    Wouter Sybrandy
I'm fully expecting Chris Horner to beat Cancellara's time by ~5 seconds.

    Well said that man.
It's a little like wrestling a gorilla. You don't quit when you're tired. You quit when the gorilla is tired.
