You wont find any Col harder than the AdH today - haha - you see what i did there - phew thats me done for the day - i'm slipping off the back to join Veelers.
This from the man who brought us the exquisite detail about Quintana's wing-like finger-flutter when in the drops. What a range.
Ooh bitchy.
Not a bit. I was admiring your top end. Poetry only works for me in small doses....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Descent back down to Bourg d'Oisans was a bit tasty in torrential rain, I was frozen.
Me too! 2011? Bit wet wasn't it!
yes 2011. Very wet. I ended up having to go up a side road on a bend coming down the Ornon, couldn't slow enough and didn't fancy the drop of a few hundred metres the other side of a knee high wall!0 -
ddraver wrote:Got a lot of funny looks channelling Froome on the Dutch bike to the station. Think I had his "pain face" going a bit!
Got those high cadence attacks nailed though!!
There is only one way to ride a Dutch bike. Slowly while eating a sandwich, drinking a coffee and talking on the phone. None of this, elbows out high cadence nonsense.Correlation is not causation.0 -
Team Sky are doing a pretty good impression of Team Sky at the moment.. It can't last
Bets on when they're going to fall apart?0 -

Nine man break has over 7 mins, Paulinho and Roche a minute and half ahead of peleton. Sky on front of peleton . Not much happening.0
-
100km to go: nine lead peloton by 6'40"
With 100km to go in stage 18, Moser, van Garderen, Voigt, Jeannesson, Riblon, Amador, Chavanel, Boom and Danielson are ahead of the peloton by 6'40".
The two counter-attackers - Roche and Paulinho - are at 5'15".0 -
Result! (for me) - morning meeting overran so I had to cancel afternoon appointments. Door shut, 'do not disturb' sign up, stream on!
Anything happened yet?0 -

with two team mates couple of minutes ahead, we're all expecting attack from Bertie on Col d'Ornon, tricky old descent after that.
Froome wont let Bertie go, I think he will ghost him all the way.Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

If you haven't figured it out I am back from maternity assessment.
Thankfully no. 2 has decided against his/her early breakaway and has been reeled back in by the peleton, where hopefully he/she will remain for another 10 days before sprinting to the finish faster than Kittel or Cav, but definitely not Greipel - Mrs does not want to give birth to a gorilla sized baby.0 -

Remember it well, fast descent off the Ornon in the wet with a huge drop to the right with just a foot high wall separating the road from the abyss! Agree with your synopsis of the climb up the Ornon, long drag up the valley then a fairly short, fairly dull climb. The first climb was good though, and of course the Alpe. I can release my power data for the Alpe if anyone wants it but I don't think a 68 minute ascent is going to raise too much suspicion!0 -
