Are you wearing anythimg under that hat?

No, I've got to even out the cycling tan lines somehow.

Rule No.7 - as a rule of thumb they should be sharp enough to easily last through the off season

Oh they do, they do, but that's partly the problem, they're basically permanent now. I'm a woman and I'm sick of people laughing at my tan lines when I wear even a short sleeved T-shirt let alone a sleeveless top, short dresses are also a no no at the moment. A man out running actually laughed out loud and commented on my arms the other day when I was on my way home from work.

Are we sure that the two Saxo-Tinkers are trying to bridge to the break as opposed to just be bodies up the road to help a Contador attack later?

As it is there not getting very far, they've only got about 20 seconds on the peloton.

Don't really get it. It's going to be down hill for a while, but not so much that ST could be seeking to break so early.

This from the man who brought us the exquisite detail about Quintana's wing-like finger-flutter when in the drops. What a range.

I get the same response when I wear my string vest to the pub.

Riders at the front are really motoring. Time is running out for a French win. Imagine a 100th edition with no French win!

I happily sport my tan lines when I can, they can all laugh all they want, they dont get the feeling I do when out on the bike in that awesome weather.

    Ooh bitchy.

Has sitsou done anything in the hills for froome lately - he was touted as a big loss to wiggins last year. Just seen him going back to the car then

I think people know less about who are good/bad descenders than they do about power numbers.

That breakaway is super strong. It wouldnt surprise me if they managed to stay away for the distance but they are going to have to work pretty hard for the win what with the racing legs in the peloton.

It means he's wearing oversocks because he expects rain?

I was thinking something else related to another thread, but your suggestion of rain is actually more likely. No one wants dirty looking white socks when they cross the line victorious on the Alpe.

Just saw someone (Greipel?) change their jersey and his bib short straps looked extremely thin? Surely they would hurt..?

Some of them have really thin ones and some of them have really thick ones. Even within the same kit, I've noticed both thick and thin Sky ones this year for example. I think it's rider preference. There's a famous video of the lovely Bernie doing something similar last year at the Giro and he had very thin straps.

    Found it:
