Millar blog a load of tosh. badly written, badly researched. Rule 5 applies Robert.

In terms of Froome's contract, it was widely reported tht this was renewed in Septemebr 2011. See:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/14951615

This undermines any argument about TdF being a matter of contract.

Position remains Wiggo is out because he is injured/ill/not trained. This makes it easiseir for Sky to manage in the short term, but says nothing about who will be riding where next year.

Perhaps what happened on the bus late last year didn't stay on the bus

Froome's 3 year contract was indeed signed after the '11 Vuelta. However, word was out that he'd renegotiated at least his salary post-Tour last year. Anything else go into that rumoured renegotiation?

Layering on the caveats, I have absolutely no proof that this is true...but Rogers is alleged to have said re Fenton 'I wont ride for that %^&*'

And in the interests of fairness RR, would you like to share what BW is alleged to have said?

I'd be pretty shocked if Sky/DB made lead in the TdF a contractual issue, over the yellow jersey holder, but cycling continues to surpise me.

Soz, I'm actually not teasing, Iain maybe has more detail on the Wiggins Wigg-out than me (honestly, Iain!). I just heard a rumour that Wiggins blew a fuse all aboard the Sky-lark during the ToB

    You're a woman, it's practically a legal obligation.

Was it a rumour, or a "rumour"?

I'd like to consider myself as being above getting interested in idle chit chat, but sometimes I can't help it, i'll be buying OK magazine next.

Does Froome have any friends other than Porte? It will be interesting to see what happens if he gets into difficulty.

Just read the Robert Millar blog on cyclingnews Tales from the Underground #greatentertainment #andclosetotrue

Good find - pretty much confirms that Sir Dave hasn't been entirely straight over this one.

This gets interesting - in an ideal world Wiggo teams up with Yates and Sutton in another team (let's say sponsored by Richard Branson) for a crack at the 2014 Tour - no problems getting motivated for that one - maybe get Robert Millar in there too - PR man maybe.

it's a hard life if you don't weaken.

And some people still wonder why Cav left!

God, managing all those egos must be a nightmare. To be honest if all of this is true (and that is a BIG if) no one comes out this well at all really. Everyone thinks they're entitled to something based on past performances but no one's past performances totally eclipse anyone else's to the point where they can demand and importantly secure what they want.

It could be called Mod Racing. What a shame Rock Racing isn't still around or we could have witnessed some fun down at Brighton sea front. :D

Sorry I'm procrastinating at work. I'll get back to editing this article now.

Didn't Wiggins withdraw from the ToB with a "stomach bug" - knowing nothing of said rumour, but to pour oil on the fire would seem that if an issue did occur on the deathstar and Wiggo was sent home, DB used the illness/injury excuse again.

OK now I'm really trying to remember what happened on that stage where Wiggo dropped off the pace. Didn't he drop off the pace to ride with Cav and everyone wondered what was going on?

Ahhh, must stop it, must do work. This piece needs to get re-worked and submitted this week! :x

    Nail on head!

I'm not sure DaveB thought he'd end up with this much talent on his team this quickly. He thought perhaps they could concentrate on Wiggins, but then Froome turned out to be rather good and then Cav didn't have a team and they'd always wanted Cav but then they didn't really know what to do with him etc. etc. Add in the idea that it is thought to be better to have potential rivals on the inside pissing out than on the outside pissing in and you have the situation as it is now. I wonder if they all think its better to have all these people on the inside pissing out now?

I wonder how this is making some of the domestiques at Sky feel?

I am of course assuming that there is in fact something going on as opposed to this being just gossip.
