Very difficult and technical according to Davide Cassani.

Start of the climb & Cavendish where he needs to be.

So meanwhile, once this climb and descent is dispensed with and while we wait for the inevitable sprint (and Cav win), what Quigley Bingo words could we have ?

My pet hate is "facility", as in "he rode up that climb with a great degree of facility". He must use that word over 100 times each broadcast

Durbridge looks like he's about to topple off sideways at any moment.

Lets hope Cav can get over this speed bump ok...

In terms of comparison, what hill in the UK would compare to the height/gradient of what they are about to climb?

Cav still in contention but at towards the rear of the peloton as Lampre put the pressure on to chase down Di Luca
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Every time a new rider gets on the front he is "to the fore". He did the commentary for last year's tour series and he used it a billion times a stage.

He will also say such and such a team will be "lining it out".

Probably similar to some of the first cat climbs in the Tour of Britain. Length wise it is about the same as something like The Tumble but not as steep on average.

I reckon he'll get back on.

Holme Moss, more or less. A bit harder. More than 300 elevation meters, a km at 10%
It's much harder than a 4th cat in the Tour de France

No, I thought they were closer to the top for some reason.

Surely with 10 km after the descent it's plenty of time for OP to get anyone in the lead back ?

Depends... 16 kms is a long way, he may get back if in a big enough chasing group and the leaders aren't going at top speed.

Cav 1 minute behind Nibali's group.
