Out of interest are the giant P Slr tires any good. Debating keeping mine on my TCR or to switch to my schwalbe ones.

Few upgrades on my Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0 since my last post.

Hunt Aero Light wheelset. Paired with Schwalbe Pro Ones 25mm and a Dura Ace 9000 28-11 cassette. Lovely wheelset so far pleased with them. Oddly I find the shifting better with the Dura ace over previous Ultegra cassette. Tubeless ride well. 83psi up front and 88psi on the rear. Had to go with Hunts after a freehub failure on my Zipps and awaiting a warranty claim on them. Hunts are lighter and hassle free tubeless fitting unlike the Zipps which were a pain. Avid centrelock discs at 140mm. Far far better stopping power than the KCNC Razor they replaced. All round a win win change. Bike looks 'cleaner' without the messy Zipp logos.

Swapped to Rotor 3D cranks with 52\36 Rotor Q Rings. A KMC X11SL chain in black for bling.

Upgraded bars and stem. Giant SLR bars (400mm) and Giant SLR Contact stem (100mm)

Pedals have been switched to Look Keo Blade 2 Carbon Pedals 12Nm.

Swapped the Fizik R3 Aliante to an R1 but not shown on this photo.

    Weight is 7.98kg.

My experience with the tires that came stock on my 2016 TCR Advanced SL (PSLR), is that they are crap. I switched within the first two weeks I had the bike to Specialized S-Works Turbo with Graphene 26c... a HUGE difference.

Just picked up my Giant Defy Advanced 2. I promised myself a carbon fibre bike when I hit 30, well I'm about 6 months late but at least I've now got it ready for the weather improving. Hopefully it'll give me the kick up the backside to get back to riding to and from work. Plans for it are to remove the bell and reflectors ( ). Put an ass saver on and my garmin 500. I am not sure about the white saddle and white bar tape. I've got them now so I'll see how dirty they look from 4-6 weeks use before I take it back for it's first service. If they look crap I'll be changing them for black. The seat already has a blue tinge from my jeans riding it the 2 miles home.

How do you find the bike 6 months on?
I've just ordered the Defy Advanced 3....

Hi everyone, this is my 2016 Giant Propel Advanced 0

Done about 1500 miles at time of this picture, and maybe another 250 since. Love it to bits, more comfortable than I ever expected. Pretty much stock apart from Zipp cages, 3T carbon stem and a Madison Di2 junction box mount.

Now I just need to stop looking at Zipp wheels for it...

    Hi everyone,

Finally got fed up of riding a borrowed 2009 Carrera Virtuoso, so took advantage of Giants end of season sale and 6mnths interest free; a TCR Advanced 1. Only had it a week but so far really pleased with it.

Yes, I have one as well - it is surprisingly comfortable for the type of bike. Mine is still 100% stock.

Its definitely my "best" best bike (I have 2 others) and hence have only done about 1100 miles since February this year

Not done this for a while. Defy geometry works well for me so 2014 defy composite 3 massively upgraded with nice wheels and full ultegra in the rear, 2015 defy 0 with full 105 in the front (bought for a steal, grabbed the chance to fiddle and get two top quality bikes for cheap!)

    @ jomax -

I think the pumpkin frame is one of the best paint scheme's Giant have done in recent years.

    What was it replacing?

I understand Giant have no 'official' crash replacement policy, but do offer discretionary discounts .... if you dont mind, what deal were you offered? I hope it was only the bike that was damaged.

It was replacing a 2015 Propel Pro 2, the original cracked where the chainstay joins the bottom bracket, (Giant claimed it was impact damage), Not. They offered a frame for half price (1000.00 CAN) which I paid. LBS sent in the cracked frame along with a letter from me, GIant found another crack in the seat tube that I didn't see, so they refunded my money, Thankyou Giant!!.

The '17 Propel Advanced Pro 1 looks amazing in the flesh. Looks nice enough in pictures, but quite red. It's actually a dark neon orange, I really want one but there's nowt wrong with my '16 Pro 2...

    Just a quick update-

I was having some serious bottom bracket creaking issues- decided to get a bbinfinite bottom bracket with ceramic bearings... OMG what a difference! With the chain off, the crankset just goes round and round and round, and my creaking problem has disappeared!

6 months later, just wondering how the BBInfinite is working out for you?

Damn you - having seen that I now need an orange bike.

Damn you and your damn ridiculously cool bi-cycle.

    Like I said earlier!
  • Just picked up this beauty this afternoon. Love or hate the colour scheme but I think it looks fantastic. It looks better in the flesh too.
Obviously will change pedals and also swapping over my SRAM red groupset and going hy/rd for braking. Wheels will be Hunt 4 season soon...
It rides great even though it's quite heavy currently.

Will be selling some Ultegra bits from this one as well as the hydraulic brake levers and calipers if anyone's interested.

  • the juin R1 are a much better brake than the hy/rd
  • Plenty of updates on mine. Latest. C-bear ceramic bottom bracket, and jockey wheels. KCNC Spider chainings. Then Giant integrated SLR aero bars with Di2 barend junction box. Prime wheels went on in the summer and for the money very pleased.
