Ive lived over 40 years travelled the world, met great people from broke grafters to royalty and no matter what the background, they have not felt the need to mock or attack others to get to where they are.
I have on the other hand come across countless jealous people, rude, obnoxious, selfish, lazy, abusive folk who just like you blame failings on others instead of using that energy to achieve the goals they mock others whom have already acheived.Living MY dream.0 -

As for the comment on wealth, it doesn't bother me who is richer than me, money really means little to me other than I like to have and do as I please. I would rather be in my position that worrying if turning up the heat in the winter was going to tip the bank balance over the edge.
If people bothered to read all of my posts they would realise that in fact rather than being happy that I can afford a car and holiday once a year, my major concern is more that many can't. I don't find fun in knowing others struggle, its wrong, I also hate it when unemployed are better off than workers and have made that known on this very forum but sadly whichever way I go the same 4 people jump onto the attack which in itself isn't an issue, it simply proves eugenics maybe a good idea ?
I guess the point is that I am happy being me, I am fiercely loyal, consistent and people whom i share my life with know I don't make pretences to fit in, I am who I am which is why some like me and some don't.

You might be stuck in a small space with a crowd of people you see as spoilt little rich boys for a few days in which case you probably proved your point (but what's a few days out of a life anyway) or you might find that even if you still don't like the event, you do actually do like the folk despite the culture gap!
Take a chance and see if you are right. I did that once. I read The Da Vinci code after years of slagging it off without having actually read it. And do you know what? I was absolutely right. It's a dreadful book!

I agree with you that it is a mistake putting too much faith in the similarity between the on-line persona and the person in real day to day life. We are all probably a bit prone to making judgements based on a few posts on a forum, which is obviously wrong because most people only give away snippets of themselves. However there are those that have done the complete opposite and shown too much of their true self by the sheer amount of argumentative, rude and narcissistic posts. That's not to say that they are a bad father, husband or even friend to others of a similar ilk. Just not the kind all would want to spend time or even a drink with. Hey different strokes for different folks and all that.0
