Just for your unbelievable response which in my view is now almost turning into some kind of pathetic cyber bullying I use the name artstan because they are the nick names of the 2 children I gave birth to.
Quite incredible
Good night to the sane among you.
Irrespective of whether you are or aren't an old poster under a new name what has anything got to do with you being female? No one would have known you were until you said. There are several women posting regularly on here including one who you seem to think is bullying you for being a woman!
If you are genuinely a new contributed then take a look at Rayjay's posts - the subject matter, style of writing and spelling errors are extremely similar. It wouldn't be the first time on here that someone got a ban and came back under a new pseudonym hence the cynicism. However, if wrong I for one apologise.0 -
"their" instead of "there are". End of the story.
Even being only a reader here I could spot the similarity straight away ;-)0 -
Well this is all going rather swimmingly ...0
-
The lady doth protest too much, methinks.
Now, I'm going for a lie down; 2 posts in one evening is just rather too exhausting.0 -
Yep, if I'm wrong then i will apologise profusely, but given your posts thus far, i'd be surprised. If you re interested in staying around we re a friendly bunch, but too many people have been trying to take advantage of that and it's made us cynical.
If we could trouble you for your opinions, you think Froome is free from any reasonable suspicion, Armstrong has been justly punished and Life Time Bans are a ridiculous idea that would do nothing to prevent doping in the pro peoloton..?We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

I wish you guys all the best with your chit chat but I don't think it is going to be possible for me to post on this sight anymore.
cheers Brigid0 -
Whoever it is has the same 'sight' problem as the supposed alter ego ...0
-
Haha, got to give that to ray, the 'Brigid' thing is hilarious0

Cor. Come here after a hard evening's...er...snoozing on the sofa  and it's all kicked off.
So...the Secret Pro...there's no point in trying to piece together who he is from 'clues', thanks to red herrings that get chucked into his posts by him or by Wade Wallace, so that his identity can't be figured out.0 -

Hmm, to be expected I guess but takes the fun away. I kind of thought something was up last year when I tried to cross reference a good handful of the races mentioned and things not completely jiving. However you could still work out which rider has the highest percentage of appearances in the races mentioned.Contador is the Greatest0 -
artstan wrote:Can anyone tell me who David Tanner is?
Funnily enough this is possibly who it is according to evidence in the comments sections which was later deleted. However I'm not too sure given the races involved (unless there was some large adjustment of races - Tour swap with Vuelta - by the mods).
His palmares are light to say the least.
However, I read that Kittel told the story about the police moto in an interview he gave to a German Tour magazine. Its not Kittel but could be someone on his team (or who rode for Argos last year) - De Kort would fit that.
Also with regard the deliberate changing of data - possibly this was done in later posts due to the first few being too 'obvious'.Contador is the Greatest0 -
To get the thread dangerously back on topic, the thing that strikes me about the article is that apparently everyone was aware of the risk of contamination. Surely, you'd just avoid beef altogether? In fact, surely you'd just go straight for the vegetarian/vegan option?Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0

Have you ever been to China?0

If everything is in and out of the same old hot Wok I'd imagine you're screwed if you took the Veggie option or not.0

andyp wrote:Have you ever been to China?
No. But that has nothing to do with anything.
If there is a genuine fear in the peloton about contaminated meat, then don't eat meat.
edit: I'm actually open to persuasion otherwise, but your reply made no attempt to engage. By all means explain why I'm wrong, duck, but try not be a dick about it eh.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
The food provided was a buffet, they had to eat what they could. I doubt very much, based on my own experience of China, that there was a vegan option, never mind a vegetarian one.0

Buffet was arranged by race organisers though, wasn't it? I'd be amazed if there aren't a fair amount of veggies in the pro peloton, and more amazed that a race organised, ultimately, by a western co didn't bear this in mind.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
RichN95 wrote:I've been to China. I think the vegetarian option was chicken.
Quick wiki says nothing about contaminated chicken, so that would do the trick . Apart from for the veggies obviously.Team My Man 2018: David gaudu, Pierre Latour, Romain Bardet, Thibaut pinot, Alexandre Geniez, Florian Senechal, Warren Barguil, Benoit Cosnefroy0 -
Seriously, the only stuff I'd trust to eat in China (or Mexico) to avoid any possibility of clen, would be plain rice, steamed veggies and fish.

The Chinese authorities seemed quite relaxed about their athletes eating fish and chicken in a bid to avoid Clen +ves. Granted two years ago.
More to the point, Matt White makes reference to a team not eating any meat products during their time in Beijing:

Well, put it like this, Blazing Saddles - who's able to speak with some authority on the subject - has previously pointed out that when the GB track team go to comps in countries known as high-risk for clen, they dont touch fish from the time they leave the UK until the time they leave that country. They live off fish the entire period, to avoid ANY risk.0 -
The questions is not whether the riders can avoid certain foods but why they should have to. This is a mandatory race for the teams and they are being forced to compromise on nutrition or play dice with their careers. Nobody's career should be at risk just from eating food.
And if there is to be effective worldwide testing what about sportsmen who are Chinese or China based?Twitter: @RichN950 -

Pedant alert: you can get all the protein you need from fish, tofu, soya protein etc. Foregoing meat for a short period isnt going to compromise an athlete's nutrional needs.0
