Don't forget too much training nap, I'm suffering from a lack of winter miles at the mo. Missed two weekends on the bounce now and it's not looking good great this week either

Not ridden since that last ride I mentioned above!

This hardcore training is, erm, not so hardcore. 8 days now without a bike ride. Try and do one tomorrow, even if its on the turbo.

I did a steady lap of the dog on monday night in the dark, on my own. It was scary. There were doggers. I'm going again next week :P

We all suffer with lack of riding from time to time. Honestly despite your regime I strongly suspect you will not be the weakest link.

    I hate hills

It's the mileage for me, I'm fit but it's the endurance. I'm sure I can get round and it is more of a social thing.

Me and my lad hoping to turn up, weather permitting. Don't worry about him keeping up - he'll be quite useful up the hills!

Doing a week's training by skiing in the Alps this week!

You could go skiing in Macclesfield this week, loads cheaper :-)

The event is over a week away so we will be in an Indian Summer by then!

Forecast is improving for next week. I think it will be a cold start but warm up throughout the day (not sure if it will be shorts weather but I would settle for something above freezing point at the mo).

I will be travelling up to Blackburn for the vintage velo ride over Nick O'Pendle on the Sunday and then travel down to Macclesfield for the Monday morning. Well, I say travel down, haven't looked at the map though as I find the north all so confusing, what with all that funny food and language :)

Presumably Thursday will be the drop dead decision date?

This will allow for those who may not access the site due to the easter break.

Will you post up on here final descision and instructions as relevant?

Forecast for Monday (April 1) is currently around 7° with a chance of showers. And this week the weather is warming up on a daily basis. I rode around the Macc area this weekend and it was fine. I'm assuming though that some of the route goes up into the hilly/snow-covered mountains?

The ride WILL go on no matter what. We'll just avoid any snow if there is any!

So - looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Had a change of route to a more tried and tested one. I haven't been able to recce the one I chose. I also have only managed 4 hrs of riding in the last 2 months!

Is this still the planned route? And is it possible to get it on mapmyride?

Tis OK. I worked out how to import it into mapmyride. Quite easy actually.
