Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

Found my bank card. It was in my wallet. Annoying. I must have searched it five times. Still waiting for the new one.

How is that possible?

Old age.

It's the kind of thing when I was younger my mum would have said "Have you checked your wallet properly?" and I'd have snapped back "Yes, of course I have, several times!", and she'd have looked in the wallet and said, innocently, "Is it this one, dear?"

Life is a bell curve.

This is what I'm struggling with. It's not possible, and yet it happened.

Stress and IQ have an inverse relationship.

What's the minimum age for this to be an acceptable excuse?

It does make you question the simulation theory? Although, I've never had an experience myself which can't be explained by logical explanations.
Could have one of the card slots got temporarily stuck together?

It happens again and you've found a portal to another dimension.
0 -
Which is nice.
0 -
Well, I mean I don't know what's in the other dimension and everything.
0 -
Anyway, good you've found your card.
0 -
Ummm, have you looked into the portal/card slot?
0 -
If you don't respond back I will assume you are on the other side, good luck!
Don't forget to take the wallet with you, "Stargate Gate" they had a job getting back.

Not having a portal wallet to another dimension.

Back on topic, thinking there's an active discussion going on and clicking through to see it's just FZ spamming a thread.

Yep, just to clarify, your wallet card slot could be a glitch in the simulation or a portal to another dimension.

Can I get a word in edgeways fz?
My wallet is a portal-Tardis. Mrs P bought me one with a heap of card slots and there's pouches behind the slots and there's 2 zipped sections for coins and it isn't very big; it's like the Tardis. Despite it's size, i've lost things I am sure I put in it.

It always makes me suspicious when virtual typists change the subject away from simulations and portals.

Anyway, no response from Big Bean so I assume he's in the other dimension now. It could be years before we hear from him again.

Exactly, he will need time to adjust.

Cycling up 1000m to see snow, and the bloomin' stuff's nearly all gone. And the sun decided to booger off early too.
If there's no more significant snowfall, they've had a skiing season of about one week at the southern end of Vercors. Not that I care as far as skiing is concerned (I'm too old to start, especially as my one time, Nordic-style, was hilariously bad), but it's not good for local businesses. But I think they are going to have to readjust, given the rising temperature trends.

Couldn’t find the skiing thread but watching the winter sports and, other than the XC in Scandinavia, there being virtually no snow on the mountains outside of the artificial pistes / ski jump landing areas. It’s depressing and worrying.
Edit - oddly I’ve just done some Googling that suggests conditions are better than average. Most of what I’ve watched in the last few days has been Austria and Germany so maybe it is just there that isn’t great?

Is there any 'active discussion' other than the same protagonists holding their polarised views?

Dog owners with zero control over their dogs. "He's completely harmless! He's completely harmless!" as the little shit runs around my daughter growling and nipping.
Owner was genuinely offended that I told her I didn't care if she thought it was harmless, and started banging on about how she didn't like kids?? I mean fair enough but my kids aren't threatening to bite you. Why should I have to roll the dice every time a dog with a crap owner runs up to my kids?
This one was seconds away from a good kick.

Yeah, and why aren't all dogs outside wearing dog nappies? It's a disgrace, sort the $h1t out at your home or come and clean my dog $h1t covered shoes!
