Seemingly trivial things that annoy you

The thought of your family being harassed by dogs and the dog $h1t on my shoes is making me triply annoying.

I've tried to get dog owning cakeists to do the right thing and start using dog nappies, to avail I may add.

Why don't they use a cork?

It'll never catch on so you need to buy some shoe nappies

How well are they selling? You might need to get Elon on board as an investor.

Just pick it up in a bag. It's not hard (unless it's not hard).

Probably explains why the dog nappy thing hasn't caught on.

I'm with FZ on this one tbh, the streets around here are disgusting

Depends what sort of area you live in I guess.

That's exactly my point. If people $h1t around their house, but picked it up would the house still be a nice place to be?

No, is the answer!

When nobody is looking I bet a good fifty percent don't pick it up and even if they do some of it is it's smeared on the floor.
Law, dog nappies, it's the only answers.

I want to hear less chat from dog owners, convert that jaw action into nappy buying.

Not sure what sort of houses you've been in where dogs shit in the house? (barring the odd puppy accident).

Dog owners don't mind them $h1tting outside on the pavement and playing fields. If I $h1t on their carpet but smear picked it up, would they object?
This is a futile debate for me as I'm right, dog owners just need to start putting on dog nappies and sorting the $h1t out at home.

It is a futile debate as you'll never get your own way on this.

I’m regularly (almost daily) having to pick up turds left behind from a dog or dogs with irresponsible owners when I walk my own dogs in the streets by my house. I hate rewarding them for their laziness but the alternative is others (or me) walking in it and also a chance that people might think it is from my dogs. I’m really hoping to catch the culprit(s) soon.
There’s loads of dogs around here but this has only been happening regularly in the last few months. It seems to be two dogs though, one large and one small, which is why I’m concerned people might think it is from my two (my GSD usually doesn’t go when he’s on a walk and saves it for the garden when we get back).

Don't let my shoes hear you say that, they live in hope.

Has anyone considered looking where they put their feet?

What % of the pavement do you think is fine to be covered in dog shit, with the onus on pedestrians to avoid it?

I maybe have a higher tolerance than most as the road I grew up on was frequently plastered in horse or cowshit. It's antisocial for dog owners not to clear up after their pets, but I'd still rather they leave it on the ground than tie it in a plastic bag and hang it from a tree. And if you eliminate dogshit there is still plenty of foxshit which is definitely more unpleasant.

The issue with dogs is how many of them there are in the same places people live.
Herbivores' poo is hardly comparable. And there are far fewer foxes or outdoor cats. And you haven't mentioned birds. Lots of them and they all poo.
But let's exempt what little wildlife the UK has left from our ire, shall we?

I disagree, by the way. Inducing someone to tread in dog faeces and walk it into their house or car is one of the most disgusting and inconsiderate avoidable things anyone can do to a stranger. And have you ever had the pleasure of cycling through some?
Could be worse, mind you. Up in Scotland one of the biggest post COVID issues has been the extension of the right to roam to include leaving one's own faeces at beauty spots.

Bzzzt. It is Not 'right to roam'. It is the right of responsible public access.

Cowshit and horseshit are different, but potentially more hazardous to the cyclist. Wet cowshit is particularly slippery and when it covers the road it's difficult to avoid. Granted, an individual cowpat is marginally less unpleasant than a dog turd. I'd query whether there are fewer foxes than domestic dogs in my area. Dogs also don't generally hop from garden to garden.

Dog shite is definitely the biggest issue around here despite me being right on the edge of the countryside (i.e. farm land within 200m of my house). I see the occasional fox and my daily walk has plenty of evidence of them crossing through the hedges along with rabbits (and probably badgers) but I've never noticed their deposits, certainly not on the pavements in my housing estate. I also hate the bags being left in trees but would say that is more of a countryside / public open space problem whereas shitting on pavements is a more immediate issue in an urban area. There really is no excuse for it as these people won't have to carry it far to bin it, I can see why they might leave bags in the countryside when the option is carrying it for miles and potentially driving home with it in the car due to no bins (there's still no excuse and doing the old stick and flick to get it off the beaten track is preferable to leaving it behind in a bag). Cats dumping on my front lawn continues to be an ongoing problem buty I'm still less likely to tread in that.

There are about 12 million domestic dogs in the UK, and about 400k foxes.
Do you live next door to the fox appreciation society or something?
