Drugs in other sports and the media.

No, I was referring to how the JTL case came about! I was under the impression, apparently mistaken, that Sky themselves noticed something strange in his parameters and asked for clarification from the authorities.
Btw - let's not forget that JTL got caught because he gave up the dope when he joined Sky. Again, if I remember correctly.
Yet you're sure enough in the competence and goodness of the Leader to have a pop at me. Good show.
How do you know he gave up the dope? Perhaps he was mates with Appollonio?...a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Well he certainly changed how he doped if he still did, as his blood from WCs 2012, while within normal parameters, showed signs of doping compared to blood taken at Sky. The Sky readings set a baseline and the WC reading was well above it.0 -
n't this the thread for talking about doping in sports other than cycling and how it's perceived in the press ?
If you want to talk Sky , JTL etc then start a new thread0 -

It'll be very interesting to see what happens after Farah's interview with Sky Sports yesterday.
Especially given there are more Salazar revelations in the pipeline, and lots of whistleblowers have contacted USADA etc since the Panorama was screened. Not to mention the plethora of journalists who will be on the case now.
I have a feeling this is going to be a big mess.0 -
dos make me laugh that every article is crammed with Mo Farrah is clean and not implicated in this in anyway.
Why would a top coach not apply the same process to all his athletes ? Ferrari didn't say to Lance you are better than the others on the team so only they need to dope0 -

I've assumed that Mo's lawyers got in touch with media outlets when this all blew up and said 'if you mention Mo's name in any news stories on this make sure you clarify there's no suggestion he is involved or we'll be seeing you in court'.0 -

From what I'm told Mo's lawyers are keeping a lot at bay just at the moment. I guess we'll have to just wait and see.0 -
I bet Mo's lawyers keep you regularly updated.0

Forget the dog. The dog died. Marker 2.0 will be harmless nano particles sensitive to UV light. It's then a trivial matter to detect glowing riders as they pass beneath la flamme rouge/finish line etc....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0

Typical French hypocrisy there. 'The French don't dope, it's just those nasty Italians'. So says the Dr Ferrari of Ancient Gaul.Twitter: @RichN950 -
Well it appears riders are getting tested at night, so that pretty much blows the theory that they're all microdosing at night time out of the window doesn't it.0

Just to close out this story that was mentioned in this thread some time ago. The offender could have gotten a 4-year ban but the authorities decided he didn't really mean to dope, so he got a 2-year ban instead!

Did Frenchie write that bit?!

I found it funny reading this week the quotes of tennis player Richard Gasquet, who said at Wimbledon that fortunately they have a pain-killer injection daily. The cyclists of the Tour de France can’t…

FTFY
Cortisone injections all over the place.
As an update to my drug taking, I'm now also applying a hydrocortisone cream as well as my cetirizine allergy tablets. I'm looking at a four year ban0 -
Does Cetirizine have any performance enhancing effects?0

Does cortisone?0 -
Well it's a painkiller/anti inflammatory so I can see why people would want to take it for recovery/pushing through an injury or whatever, but I can't see what Cetirizine does that would be useful from a doping perspective.0

Cetirazine allows riders with allergy to breath through their nose and see without tears in their eyes. I don't see any difference in the principle.
I am aware that the potential for causing long term damage to the body and side effects of are much worse with cortisone or its derivatives. But as a PED?0 -
