You really do sound like you are engaged in self analysis all the time. From your other posts you are a middle aged American engaged in amateur cycling which probably puts you squarely in the group of people who idolised Lance in the early 2000's as he turned your minority scene into a relatively big deal in USA and gave you that intangible yet valuable gift, pride. You have a lot to thank him for and so conversely a lot to lose when he is unmasked. So, you have engaged in a process firstly of denial and then, once denial becomes equivalent to insanity, you change tack and accuse others of your own failings to try and share the load. It is you, not us, for whom Lance Armstrong is a hero. Now he is dust.

    Tell me I am wrong.

    Let's see now.
Self analysis? - You could be right. As I get older I do tend to ponder my life and what I do.

Middle aged American? - Only if I live to be 128 - so I'm gonna call that a wrong.

Idolizing Lance? - Think about it. Why would a 54 year old man(at the time) idolize some brash young punk? Why would a 54 year old man idolize anyone for that matter? So another notch in the wrong column.

Thank Lance? - While I will agree that his effect on the sport was very important I don't believe I ever communicated my thanks to him in any way. Call it in the maybe column.

A lot to lose when he was unmasked? - Can't recall really having invested anything in him. Didn't have a yellow wrist band, never bought a Trek, have never visited his website, never made any contributions to his charity, don't own a Sheryl Crow album,
did buy some Shimano components. All in all, another wrong.

Me in denial? - I deny that.

LA my hero? No not by a long shot. Family and friends are my hero's. They are the ones that will come and pick my *ss up when I use up my last spare 50 miles from home. I doubt LA is gonna take that call. Wrong again.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

See you don't get it - from about 3 bits of information you can make up any old sh1t about someone's thoughts and feelings like you try to but the likelihood of the statement being correct is small because I.do.not.know.you. How you presume to tell everyone what they think or feel in one overarching statement is even more ridiculous than my little bit of Sherlock Holmsish bollocks. You have been a Lance supporter for a long time, so whatever.

Listen to this guy. He sort of knows what he's talking about. I read all the syuff you guys say about me and accuse me off. It's not lost on me. I hear / read it and it gets filed and thought about. Some of you may even be right about me, but I'm basically harmless.

In the UK we judge if Americans are harmless on one single fact.

What if Bruyneel has a nearly equal numer of people stand up there under oath and say it did not happen. Ekimov denies Floyd's 2004 transfusion on a bus story. I believe Armstrong was drugged but am trying to thionk of what Bruyneel might hope to achieve with all the witnesses he can call. Just imagine if he won an arbitration

I don't see what Bruyneel has to lose from arbitration. I assume he will say that it was an athlete's individual responsibility whether they doped, that he was just driver etc. Furthermore, by going to abitration he will have the CAS option, so one way or another he could avoid a life ban. If he refuses arbitration then he just gets a life ban.

Correct, that is also the way I see it. He could only gain from it.

I suspect this could be like the Falvio Briatore F1 ban where he took them to court and won because he didn't have a licence so they had no way to ban him

The AGM of Cycling Ireland was on today. A discussion was had at the end in an effort to raise a motion of no confidence in McQuaid. Remember McQuaid needs the backing of him home union to be able to run for president again.

Yeah, there are effigies and then there is the satirical, British sense of humour. The 2 should not be confused.

Yep, its just humour, and if someone doesn't find it funny, it doesn't mean it isn't funny. Personally I think its just fun, and its not burning effigies anyway its having a bonfire with an alternative to a Guy Fawkes guy on it just to have a laugh.

Its funny if you fund it funny. Its offensive if you find it offensive. But who cares, there's no malice behind it, can't remember anyone being up in arms about the footballer one last year.

The cancer bit is what people get up in arms about. IF they'd done Jimmy Savile instead, would people say its offensive cos he made lots of money for charity? Would they f**k.

I'm glad they went ahead after a few moronic people found it important enough to get 'up in arms about it' cos its just a bit of fun. Nothing more.

....Ps. Better write 'up in arms' again, not sure I used the phrase enough in that post and don't want people to get up in arms about it.
