So this is an old photo of Tyler. Every time I see it, the physique screams peds. Funnily enough, you still see physiques close to this on occasion...no names

Might be an easy way out for UCI. Instead of a complex testing process (easy to avoid) they could just look at pictures of the rear end of protagonists and jobs a good 'un.0 -
Kolobnev?
I don't think a ripped physique says much.
I remember remarking on various occasions how Ullrich's body shape changed, and the size of Lance's calves compared to say, pictures of Hinault or Merckx, but I think that's as much modern training and modern racing than doping.0 -

Well I'm back from a very pleasant Mountain Bike Trip so I ve been catching up all day....
General Thoughts -
*Well all that we though was true, All the riders testimonies and everything. It wasn't anything that us cyclonerds did nt know already but it's good to know we weren't hopelessly wrong all the same.
*I ve not read the actual reports yet but I'm back in Siberia from tomorrow so i ll have plenty of time then!
*That abc doc is very good, Good on the aussies - No one mentioned that Betsy and Emma were such fitties btw!! I have immense respect for both of them!
* Fair play to Wiggo and Canc, i think they ve done as much as they can realistically do. Alex Dowsett has learnt a few things about social media he won't forget in a while and it saddens me to say that Team Sky (alongside every other team manager mind) have had a bit of a shocker!!
*Liggett coming around a bit is starting to make me think that there is a good chance most rational people will accept the truth now. That sad it was disappointing to hear my riding buddies spouting the Lance PR crap. What ever you say about the man, he is damn good at PR!
*If the UCI ratify the ban then they ll grease their slimy ways out of this....
*It's a good day for clean sport, lets hope we can do something to make it permanent rather than another festina. We're in danger of confusing passion with incompetence

Where's the stuff that's good for cyclists?
Reading a bunch of drugged up body builders complaining they're depressed whilst comparing anabolic steroid use and telling each other doctors are exaggerating the effects on their health is surprisingly boring.0 -

Not saying anything one way or another about 'roids etc. but there are more than a few people out there who can develop this kind of muscularity and size without drugs. People with shorter legs or just shorter people in general are able to develop huge size simply because the muscles themselves are shorter. Many a long legged bodybuilder has done squats and the all the other required leg work like a madman, only to find that huge leg size is not in the books for him. All that time, his shorter training partner basically just has to look at a squat rack(so to speak) to pack on muscle. Even with 'roids and growth hormones longer legged bodybuilders seem to be lacking in that department. As for me, well, I have a long upper body and when i was younger and lifted with a friend I could not begin to come up with much muscle up top. However, my short legs came along very nicely, thank you, and even at 63 years old it doesn't take much leg work and riding to get to a point where people start to make comments about them. I don't know how tall these riders are but I'm betting the ones with the great legs are a bit shorter than the rest.0 -

Agree with the photoshop. However it's not uncommon for magazines, etc. to do things like this strictly for more mass appeal and therefore better sales figures. That it was done to suggest PED use is a bit of a stretch, at least in my view. I guess it would depend on the source.0 -

My wife and I standing together is something of a sight. I'm 6-0 and she's 5-10 yet her waist is much higher than mine. And yes, I guess they are short.0 -
doesn't scream peds to me , it screams 'I have been dieting and training at the same time'. Don't misinterpret this, I know hamilton doped (i just read his book).0

IMO it wont be long before at least some celebs will start being 'unavailable' to attend LA love-ins...
I don’t think those who attend the banquet with the celebrity chefs will much care if they get a T-shirt or not - the tickets cost $5,000 upwards, $100,000 if you want to sit at the same table as LA and the Celebs.0 -

Anyway $50,000 strikes me as a lot back in 1993, especially as LA would have probably had to pay not just the Coors team that amount but also 2-3 other of the better teams taking part. Although I suppose if it all works out, it’s worth giving out $200,000 if you get $1 million back.
One of the other teams could have been Malcolm Elliot’s and if so, I wish Elliot hadn’t taken the 'tea money'; it all could have all developed differently with LA if Elliot had won one of the 3 races and so LA not had that (for him) prestigious and (for anybody) lucrative bonus so early in his career.
Here's the first race (leg 1) with links to the other ‘legs’: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qID2-hx-xw0
The commentary says ‘it marks the beginning of a new era in cycling’. How right!0
