What does the Hog do now? How do you contest this?

A breakaway cycling league may be his only play...

Ferrari was just raking the money in...

I understand a little better why JV and the Garmin boys didn't give it up earlier...they were dirty as sin.

All credit to Radio 5. Always eager to maintain balance, they managed to find some chump who still believes Armstrong.

    He was 'special' wasn't he!!!?
According to him the whole of Austin believes in Lance, so it must be like a place controlled by Scientologists, where any dissent is weeded out.

What I still don't buy is that all those long-term dopers all claim they suddenly stopped doping.... and it only seem to have taken place during the USPS years ...

Apart from the ones who clearly state that they continued doping after leaving USPS you mean?

got to correct the above statement, ignore the "it only seem to have taken place during the USPS years".

Didn't Hincapie state that he stopped doping in 2006? A bit hard to believe that now.... perhaps he reduced his programme.

Also makes you wonder about Contador...

I never wonder if Contador doped...

Always thought he was guilty too, he got away lightly, and still expect him to dope ...

so what did LA's lawyer say ?

What needs to happen now is the UCI need to start to clear out some of the hangers on and team helpers, plus the DSs that are still making this happen today.

Not read the whole thing yet but again it seems current riders like LLS are still being implicated by this which is the truly sad thing

I bet Gibo told him to tell all, as he's such a good guy. :P

Theres a comment in the same deposition about Bertagnolli going to Ferrari for testing and mentions something about Pellizzotti, Gasparotto and Possoni. My Italian is shite - anyone know if it infers another (former) Sky rider has previous?

Lawyer seems to be laying it on strong that everyone was at it. Paving the way?
  • I think if this teaches us anything, it's that the concept of damning anyone who hasn't always been clean is just stupid. Why wouldn't you want the experience of guys who experienced the pressure to cheat helping you identify what makes and enables it to happen?

    Three points:
    1. 6 month off-season bans don't cut it for me. They've been helpful, but not that helpful
    2. Most sophisticated etc... Good line from USADA. A lot of people will like that.
    3. The most damming part against the UCI for me is the bit about Bruyneel having advanced warning about tests.

Watching the recent Road to glory on Sky it struck me that the Cycling Journo's in the room looked kinda well how can i put this ehh "Hand Picked" was that not a Bruyneel trademark ?

The lawyer just trotted out the old 'rigged process' line. Seems a pretty ridiculous defence but guess it's enough to keep the witch hunt idea going for people who won't bother reading even the first few paragraphs of the report.

I imagine journos are hand picked to some extent because some journos might be a pain in the ass to have around. Like, you wouldn't invite everyone to your party would you, just the people you liked?

I haven't. 16 is one of six possible riders (one of which is Contador). I was just being mischievous.
