Contrition not shown...but he is gonna bury a load of people when in the USADA and qui tam case or at Truth com. Clean in 2009?
Just reading a bit on the Guardian's page, it says that in reply to the question whether he doped in 2009 and 2010, he said "absolutely not", which contradicts the USADA verdict. He said that he stopped doping in 2005, 8 years ago. Isn't the statute of limitations also 8 years? Absolutely coincidentally of course.
I predict that in 2018 he will admit to doping in 09 and 10 tours.
There's not a damn chance he wasn't doping in 09' & 10. 4 years older and yet finishing 3rd, Director Sportive the same Bruyneel again, the Tour winner a doper and his team. Yeah, sure he didn't dope!
Not seen the interview yet, but from reading about it, nothing new or surprising.0 -
It is not that long ago there were loads of "Lance never failed a drug test" Armstrong apologists all over the place.
Where are they now?0 -

+ 1 Trev Yes were are Moray Gub & Paul Cuthbert these days ???? Maybe out the back burning their Motorola/USPS/Discovery/Radioshack jerseys0 -
What makes me most depressed today (although not at all surprised) is that I keep thinking of the countless planning meetings he would have had before this, prepping every answer "we can tell that bit of truth, but keep lying about this one" etc.
It's deliberate and calculated scheming and cheating, off the bike just like it was on the bike. I'm loving that #doprah was trending this morning though!0 -

Funny, a certain radio station is doing the story to death now. A number of weeks ago several of their reporters were saying that very thing.."never failed a drugs test etc".0 -

If he did nt view it as cheating, did nt view it as wrong, did nt feel bad or thought it was "cyclists do", then Ferrari did nt do anything wrong in his eyes...
Why would'nt he think Ferrari is a good man? he wouldn't be so wealthy and famous without him.0 -
Anyone heard from the guy with the Livestrong tattoo and replica Livestrong bike?0

I didnt see the interview in full cos I couldnt be ars^d to drag myself out of bed at 2am, but I followed the Twatter noise. Did he say that CVV doped on other teams? I'm sure I saw ref to this on Twatters.0
-
^ yeah, basically. He was talking about the implication that he was forcing people to dope to stay on the team (which he denied) and part of his evidence was that these people continued to dope even when they had changed to another team.I'm left handed, if that matters.0

Not just reporters...Hein Verbruggen, May 2011 wrote:I repeat again: Lance Armstrong has never used doping. Never, never, never. And I say this not because I am a friend of his, because that is not true. I say it because I'm sure. It's only a bit of sport, Mun. Relax and enjoy the racing.0 -
Bo Duke wrote:LA was very, very calculating. He 'regrets' for sure but emotionally he was in charge all the way through. He didn't incriminate anyone, he focused on himself.
Its a set up. He's lost his TdF titles so the only thing left is damage limitation, ie hold onto his millions. Best way to do that, admit all then leave every other rider, team and UCI sweating whether he will whistleblow on them. I don't expect much from the second episode.
After that he'll negotiate: I'll spill the beans but I want my money untouched and to be cleared for Triathlon.
His 'opening up' is to show everyone he's touched that he's willing to spew - how much he spews is upto them if they don't give him what he wants.
This guy is Hannibal Lecters lil' brother.
This. It's about control. Lance has always been about me me me and control.0 -

Ohhh. Wonder wheher we'll see a response from CVV...nah, probably Vaughters, he tries to fend off the flack0 -
Just watched the video of Betsy's reaction....
Lance had better hope to God that he's never made to stay alone in a room with her until she's done with him0 -
He's a sociopath.
Crap for cycling, but at least he was relatively contained.
I feel sorry for the kids.0 -

Cav's just tweeted: 'Too much to write about my feelings on the @lancearmstrong interview in 140 characters. I'll write an article and post a link when it's done.'
Let's see what he writes, but whatever he does there'll be an battalion of critics. It's a no-win situation.0 -

“Lance Armstrong has confirmed there was no collusion or conspiracy between the UCI and Lance Armstrong. There were no positive tests which were covered up and he has confirmed that the donations made to the UCI were to assist in the fight against doping.
...
“However, Lance Armstrong also rightly said that cycling is a completely different sport today than it was 10 years ago. In particular the UCI's introduction of the biological passport in 2008 – the first sports federation to do so - has made a real difference in the fight against doping.
“Finally, we note that Lance Armstrong expressed a wish to participate in a truth and reconciliation process, which we would welcome.”
Utterly gobsmacked that UCI are using the testimony of a self-confessed liar in support of their ant-doping performance. Looks desperate....a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -

Come on Frenchie; at least LA has admitted; it's time for AC to do the same now.

Fantastic quotes from this- Called you crazy, called a bitch but I didn't call you fat.
Also, "Doping was like saying we have to have air in our tyres, we have to have water in our bottles."
Monumental!

PS- Think I might get a T-shirt with these quotes on! 8)“Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving”- Albert Einstein

Today's early morning reaction has not been good for the LA brand resurrection project. Critical comments on CNN, ESPN and a number of the networks. This is mainstream USA, not cycling fans.
Part one seems to have gone over like a lead balloon. He may need to cry tonight.0 -

I hope they get settlement soon.
However, since I read Frankie's confession many many months ago, I have always had issues with them both. She should have stuck to her guns and never married him in the first place as he was using before she put down her ultimatum and continued to afterwards. (Sect 37)
And it doesn't sound like he was hounded out of the team.. (62-64)

I expect I'll get flamed for this. Yes he doped, he lied for a long time (as do most dopers). But I liked him then, he rekindled an interest in the sport for me which has stuck with me since and I still see him as a 7 time tour winner in what was a very murky period of the tour. All the people popping champagne because the witch hunt (and it was) was successful may be very happy, but as a follower of the sport then (and now) the races were very exciting to me to watch. A criticism of more recent races are that they aren't!0
