Some interesting comments (read: deluded) against this ride:
    http://app.strava.com/activities/36084603

Even Lance chips in himself with:
Lance Armstrong: "hey matt fritsch - ask alex zulle, jan ulrich, joseba beloki, ivan basso, and andreas kloden how many tours i have... and if that doesnt please you then ask the 200 guys in those "7" pelotons."

It's tempting to start spamming his feed...

Hate to say it but that's been pretty obvious for some time. All the pages dedicated to him on this forum alone
is staggering. And this is ONLY from the people who hate him. "Epic", I'd have to say yes to that. Sort of begs the question of which group contains more people? The ones who love him or the ones who hate him or is it the group that just doesn't care? wink:

Dennis, for someone who doesn't care, the vast majority of your posts seem to be focused on the one subject?

I think he is going to have a total meltdown.... he must be desperately if not profoundly unhappy

LA has the highest profile of any Cyclist probably that has ever lived, the era his career has spanned has of course added to this. He's also probably the most controversial. What we really need though (as people who are on a cycling forum) is someone to find it odd that he's discussed and project all sorts of amateur psychoanalysis upon us, stating the obvious all the time, in the process probably making themselves think that they are making us think.

He was only averaging 18 mph on that 80 mile ride -- tosser.

I just do not know where to even start with this, Paolo...

I know that Lance has got way too much at stake to make it a given that he will ever go public...BUT...the sheer utter hyprocrisy of this kind of b$*locksy pronouncements from other compadres of the time such as "Lets get rid of who we have to get rid of and start all over again....Lance, speak out. Spit it out. It'd be good for him and for all of us..."
... and I think that if I was Lance that kind of stuff might temp me to snap, to chuck some names and tales around. According to the likes of Hamilton, Lance always wanted to be fully up to speed on what his rivals were doing and taking - and if they were using the bad Doctor's services, given Lance's very close relationship with him you can bet he knew who else was using him.

    Dangerous ground, Paolo.

    Tell!

    *deep breath*

Brace yourself, lad: the overwhelming evidence is that Lance Armstrong was a doper and therefore nearly all of his notable victories are rendered worthless!

I know, I know... absolutely shocking. We all wanted to believe...

Incidentally, had a really strange moment just now when I looked at the page count for this thread and hallucinated that it said "181" rather than "1" as it really is...

I hope this info doesn't put too much of a dint in your evening, but it's prob best to get these things out in the open...

    No.

This is a cross we all have to bear. Individually.

The worst thing you could do right now is get involved with any online "group communication tool" that proffers any sort of "closure"... or even "openure". I'm going to stick with my "manure": I'm a man, it's mine and I know where it's come from.

Not only that, but such groups will no doubt attract twisted Yanks who deep down are searching for a hero while still bitter about Vietnam...
