i reckon he has spent the last few months moving all his assets into his wife's and kids name, then he'll come clean, slag off a few others (and who can blame him) then he'll get sued to hell and back but have no way of paying it back.

...and then win a triathlon or two

  • It's just a cynical ploy by LA to push this thread over 200 pages so he can claim a thread strava victory.

Disappointing for him that his ban covers the Silly Commuter Racing Thread.

That's his Brompton contract f*cked then.

Shame, Heras did a nice sideline in Brompton racing post-ban... 2 x World Champ.

Sweet -- all these cooler than cool types now declaring that they don't care (after countless posts to this thread) or they will not watch.

Oprah cares nothing about cycling, Lance cares only about himself (and defeating cancer, of course).

Come on, car accidents are car accidents -- they are all interesting. It will be fascinating. One has to get their laughs where ever one can.

There's a difference between taking an interest (ie reading a brief summary of the highlights) and caring (ie actually watching it).

I'm interested in the Tour Down Under, but I can't say I care about it.

When his people talked to Tygart's people what would they have discussed?

Is there bigger/more fish in the sea?

ETA.....s'pose not from a US POV.

  • Hmmm....as someone else has said, you dont go onto l'Oprah to confess, you go to plead forgiveness.

Have to say you really could do a find and replace job with Lance's name instead of Marion Jones's in much of that article. And we all know he's a bloody good actor.

hmmm...I wonder if he has cut a deal on a share of the global syndication rights for this episode of Oprah? Just might be enough to pay back a few people...

Yeah, that really clarified things...so you are interested in what Kimmage says about SKY, but you don't really care? Same with Ashenden on dope? How many times have you posted to this thread? Sounds like a distinction without a difference.

But who cares? The fact of the matter is that this will be an entertaining car wreck (regardless of which way he goes). One should not dismiss the comic potential of this mess.
  • I don't dismiss its comic potential, I just dismiss the prospect of sitting up til 0400 on a work night to witness it live.

    After confession comes redemption.

Well, it worked for Tiger, why not Lance too?

Very good -- but I doubt it'll be that good. :D

So there we have it - no confession - he's going to announce his new career move.
Probably end up as a typecast bully.

Apples and oranges. Tiger was called out by the tabloids. And he didn't cheat on the course, just banged everything with a pulse.

Redemption? He certainly doesn't occupy the same public place he did before the scandal -- but that may just be that he is not the same player. He is just a golfer now, a golfer that Rory, Bubba (and others) can beat.

    Already recorded according to RaceRadio.

Also mentioned Bruyneel is writing a book. Hopefully it will generate more interest from publishers than Lance's new book.
Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.
  • Tygart gets in first, on '60 Minutes' tonight. Preview clip here:

Since I have officially switched sides on all this I would like to remind everyone that by going on Oprah he will, of course, be seeking the ultimate prize of being anointed "Survivor" by the Great Woman.

what's been the gist of the reaction in the US to his forthcoming Oprah thang...

No clue, but I'm betting it will bring in great ratings and be not much more than the usual Oprah feel good fluff.

I've never really liked listening to anything Armstrong has to say. 90 minutes would be torture. I'll read the BR summaries instead.

The Oprah Winfrey Network has told the BBC there is to be "no payment of any kind" for the Lance Armstrong interview. Nicole Nichols, from OWN, said: "No payment of any kind for the interview. No editorial control and no question is off limits." Nichols ALSO said the network would not be revealing when filming would take place.
