What area of modern life is not a "good thing for lawyers"? They're like a societal version of mould: crucial for maintaining certain key functions, but likely to decompose everything if left unchecked.

Happy Christmas Dennis, you splendid old tosspot.

And a happy holidays(politically correct) to all of you "over there". I would have used a name (e.g. England, Great Britain) instead of over there but didn't want to start a flame war over the correct wording or flags.

Happy Holidays to you and all of our other friends in the colonies Dennis

Given that it was Hitler who said that (though I guess he said it in German), can we invoke Godwin's Law? If not, what about "Mornington Crescent"?

Merry Christmas Moray (where've you been all this thread-long?). :)

I think nathancom meant the 'England' bit of the Union flag which is the red bit in the middle. Red cross upon a white ground. In isolation a rather lacklustre bit of symbology as are the Union flag's other parts, but together, as a whole, a glory. Best looking flag in the world methinks.

I don't know. I look upon web forums as a way of having a conversation / discussion(if you will) with people that you normally wouldn't be able to. Even face to face conversations / debates very often go off course. Of course in a perfect world this wouldn't happen but........

I do too, but if there's going to be a conversation about football and nationalism, let's keep it in the Bottom Bracket, as that's where it belongs, and it's bound to end in tears. And we wouldn't want to stifle debate about Lance Armstrong, would we?

I think the scottish know more about jingoism than any other group I've seen. They even fight each other at football matches where history and religion are the deciding factors in who one supports. Given the chance to lead UK politics they used the opportunity to ruin the awld enemy by encouraging mass immigration, staggering amounts of corruption bailing out there crap mates and general fcukwittery which we are all paying for. This level of national ineptitude has been seen before when scotland was more or less desperate for closer union to save its porridge eating hide.
They hide behind bleating liberalism and use words like bigot when they cant win or are unable to engage in sensible conversation and discussion.

BTW Gingers are a group that can be discriminated against.
