If the pace over the Tourmalet was so flat then I can already see this stage running out as another sky controlled borefest. Other teams should have got on the front over the Tourmalet and put in a hard pace to try and wear Sky down abit before the final 2 climbs. At this rate Sky will be going into the last climb with a full team and EBH leading them all the way to the top - Nibs will then have a half hearted crack on the descent. The End.

Woah, two first cats to come still...!

We will see...To many rider's happy with their 8th 9th 10th whatever places and couldn't care about actually racing because for a position like that they get more points than for a stage win and ride home happy knowing it will help secure a contract next year. Not sure any of them really care about winning anything anymore.

I confess I ve only driven this route but I don't remember anything too scary tbh, the top of the Peyresourde was but they ll be going down that way, then it's virtually a straight road down to Luchon, can't see a lot changing....

It's scottish, but it's spelled incorrectly there, should be 'get tae f**k'

Agree LL. If Boyyyysen Hagen and Knees are still up there then you know its "Sportive" pace......starting to agree with some on here that this race is being run from the passenger seat in the DS car...be it telling them to steady or looking at their SRM power wattage....not expecting fireworks today prob the same bore as last week with riders riding for their GC places.

10mins for the front two over the peloton.

Imagine if Voeckler wins this!!! He will think he is unreal and get some serious cash.

If only more people like Voeckler, who have qualities to place reasonably on GC, gave up those ambitions to get stages. They would be paid a huge amount more.

There's a waffle house at the top of the Peyresourde. You'll see it on the right if the cameraman is looking back on the riders.

Sorensen has attacked and Vino is not far behind. I hope Martin is not too far off and the two up front blow and Martin passes them to hold off solo FTMFW

    No.

Say that with 3km to go at the top of the Peyresourde when nothing's happened.

So when do we reckon the first post "blaming" Sky for daring to ride will be? Surely they should just give up and let everyone else attack no?

I was thinking that Sorenson seemed to have had an amazing Tour having been in practically every break (although won nothing), just realised that I'd confused Chris Anker and Nicki, thinking they were the same person. D'oh.

On the assumption that 87, 89 and 2011 were the most exciting tours, which has been the most boring?

I don't think Aspin and Peyresourde are good climbs for anyone to attack Sky - pretty steady gradients and no real kicks I can remember

You have far to much faith. Theres barely anybody left in the race with any type of attacking/GC credential. Most of them didn't even start the race. And even if there was the odd chap looking to put in a dig, are they really going to get away from 5 Sky men?
