I actually can't imagine any of those below Nibali getting more than a few seconds. TJVG needs 3 minutes to get 3rd place — impossible without Biblical weather, crashes or cheating. I think we have the podium there, it just a question of actual 1-2-3 placing now.
Nah. Nibs is more concerned with what's going on behind that ahead.
Froome will demolish him in the TT.0 -

Ah, right. I was wondering yesterday what the fewest number of GC changes was in a Tour. This is the least I can remember, probably down to the sprint bonifications being removed.0 -
This Tour has been has been won by Sky planning, training and riding as a unit to a set plan for seven months while never really putting a foot wrong, while every rival has one by one f***ed up, except Nibali, who's just not quite good enough. It may not be thrill a minute, but Sky are the last people to blame.Twitter: @RichN950

Exactly. Saying it's boring doesnt mean Sky is to blame. It's more the godawful route than anything.Fckin' Quintana … that creep can roll, man.0 -

was thinking of people trying to move from 10th to 7th (just as an example). worth it for the points/prestige/prize money?
Yes. Well, no one really gives a toss about the money, but the Tour is strange in that 7'th place means something. Which is one reason the racing can be incredibly negative.
This is in the main is what is to blame for sh*t Tours like this one. Riders happy to sit in the top ten and that be the be all and end all of their season. Nico Roche makes me sick for this, before the tour even starts he's banging on about getting a top 20 place as his goal, what a great team leader that makes him, eh.0 -

Also note that RSN are leading the team prize, with 4 in the top 16, shows what a mistake they made with Franke this year (even without the 'adverse test result').0 -

5th in 2003 I think, also, whilst riding for Euskaltel."In many ways, my story was that of a raging, Christ-like figure who hauled himself off the cross, looked up at the Romans with blood in his eyes and said 'My turn, sock cookers'"

Zubeldia is like a Menchov who doesn't crash, so no-one ever notices him at all0 -
I'm not even convinced Zubeldia exists. It's ASO testing to see if anyone is paying attention.0

oddly even if he had won the prolog and been in yellow in paris I think he would have worn the jersey less as the ukpostals would have been in a position to gift the jersey to a soft break"If I was a 38 year old man, I definitely wouldn't be riding a bright yellow bike with Hello Kitty disc wheels, put it that way. Why has such a sh*t stage gone to 24 pages? Could it be people really love a chance to moan??0

Half way up the final climb Harmon was saying they were ahead of any predicted times. This seemed odd but I assumed the stiff breeze was mainly behind them.0 -

He was hindered by a police-bike apparently.
In other news, Wiggins skipped the TdF conference.
Sure sign of a guilty doper who doesn't want to get asked awkward questions - probably skipped the dope control too0 -
Just catching up with this thread after watching the stage. Jesus christ- do some people understand how professional sport works.
Not every Premier League season is decided by two goals in injury time.
Not every Wimbledon Mens Final is a 5 set classic.
Not every Open Championship is decided by a 30 ft putt on the 18th green.
Not every Superbowl is decided by a 99 yard touchdown as the clock runs down.
Not every World Series is decided by a walk-off home run.
So why do some people expect the GC riders at the Tour to go on mad suicidal attacks from the gun?0 -

A few of the stages have seemed slow so far. Will be interesting to see the average at the end, on what would be considered a fast course...Mañana0 -

Every time a match is boring on MoTD everyone moans about how boring it is.
They do the same in the tennis too. "This match was a doughnut, so we won't show you that match, just Nadal's best point".0 -

Cos it's the only way to become a True Champion TM especially if you attack your own team leader, then you get elevated to Heavyweight True Champion TM status (even if you subsequently blow up and lose the race).0 -
